    • Prevents shutout with homer
Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Rodriguez got the Mariners on the board in the ninth inning, taking a 102.5 mph offering from Mason Miller deep to center field. This was Rodriguez's third homer over his last 11 games, a span in which he's gone 15-for-42 (.357) with 10 RBI. The star outfielder continues to shake off a slow start to the year, and he's now at a .270/.317/.351 slash line with five homers, 24 RBI, 27 runs scored and 14 stolen bases through 63 contests. • Goes four innings in return
Eflin didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks across four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Eflin was activated from the 15-day IL for Wednesday's start and was yanked on 55 pitches. He was expected to be under a pitch count after only being stretched out to 40 pitches during his recovery from a back injury. The 30-year-old had to shake off a little rust, allowing all three hits and both runs in the first inning before retiring nine straight batters to close out the start. While Eflin will likely remain limited for the next few starts, he's worth a look in his next projected start, which is scheduled for Tuesday against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:41 pm
    • Julio Rodríguez socks solo homer in loss to A’s
Julio Rodríguez went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk against the A’s on Wednesday.

Advice: Rodríguez made sure the Mariners would not be shut out against the A’s on Wednesday. He took Mason Miller deep to lead off the ninth inning to bring Seattle to within a run. The 23-year-old outfielder is slashing .270/.317/.351 with five homers, 27 runs scored, 24 RBI, and 14 steals across 265 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:03 pm

    • Gleyber Torres plates two as Yankees defeat Twins
Gleyber Torres smacked a two-run double on Wednesday as the Yankees triumphed over the Twins.

Advice: Torres capped off a four-run uprising off of Chris Paddack in the opening inning with his two-run double that plated Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the evening. For the season, the 27-year-old infielder is slashing .231/.307/.341 with just five homers, 19 RBI and four stolen bases through his first 63 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:46 pm

    • Zach Eflin goes four innings in return from IL
Zach Eflin pitched well in his return from the injured list on Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits over four frames in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: Eflin struck out three batters on the evening and didn’t allow a base on balls. The Marlins scored a pair of two-out runs against him in the opening inning on an RBI double by Jesus Sanchez and an RBI single by Otto Lopez. He settled in nicely afterwards though and blanked the Fish over his final three innings. The 30-year-old hurler got five whiffs on 55 pitches in the contest, posting a CSW of only 18 percent. He’ll tote a 4.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 47/4 K/BB ratio (63 innings) into Tuesday’s start against the Cubs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:04 pm
    • Getting maintenance Wednesday
Jansen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Jansen started at catcher in each of Toronto's last three games, so he's likely just getting some maintenance Wednesday. Alejandro Kirk will sub in for Jansen behind the dish. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:26 pm

    • Gets aboard three times in loss
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Garcia is making excellent contact lately with multiple hits in nine of his last 16 games. He's gone hitless just three times in that span. It took a while for the third baseman to get into a rhythm at the plate, but the Royals stuck with him atop the lineup due to his speed. Garcia is slashing .267/.316/.398 with five home runs, 14 steals, 35 RBI, 40 runs scored, 12 doubles and three triples through 60 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:13 am

    • Launches homer Tuesday
Naylor went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and a second run scored in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Naylor was part of the Guardians' comeback push -- his fourth-inning homer cut the deficit to 5-3. After being one of the team's hottest hitters in April, the first baseman has hit .178 with a .719 OPS since the start of May. Naylor's power is still coming through with 16 homers, a .500 slugging percentage and a .271 ISO. He hasn't had a pronounced issue with strikeouts either, fanning at just a 16.2 percent rate while walking at a career-best 10.3 percent clip. Naylor's .308 batting average last year was likely unsustainable, but he's a better overall hitter than he's been over the last month. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:56 am

    • Activated for Wednesday's start
The Rays reinstated Eflin (back) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: Tampa Bay optioned right-hander Justin Sterner to Triple-A Durham to clear the way for Eflin's return to the 26-man active roster. Eflin missed just over the minimum 15 days while recovering from lower-back inflammation, and the Rays signed off on him returning from the IL without a rehab assignment after he completed a 40-pitch, two-inning simulated bullpen session Sunday. According to MLB.com, manager Kevin Cash suggested that Eflin could face some limitations with his workload Wednesday, but the Rays will wait and see how the right-hander fares as the game unfolds before making any decisions on whether to cut his start short.
