    • Takes step back Tuesday
Assad allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and five walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Tuesday.

Advice: Assad gave up a two-run home run to Orlando Arcia in the second inning and a solo shot to Michael Harris in the fourth. The five walks were also a season high, and it was the fourth time this season Assad has issued three or more free passes. For the season, he's at a 1.70 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 46:20 K:BB through 53 innings across 10 starts. He's had little trouble with the long ball this year, so it's safe to assume he'll continue to find success in run prevention if he can keep the ball down. The right-hander is projected for a road start in St. Louis his next time out. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

    • Oneil Cruz sets Statcast record on 3 hits in win
Oneil Cruz went 3-for-5 with one RBI in a win over the Giants on Tuesday.

Advice: All three of Cruz’s hits were blasted with a 121.5 mph double, a 120.4 mph single, and a 116.3 mph double. He’s now the first player in the Statcast era to have three hits in one game over 115 mph, and his 121.5 mph double is the hardest-hit ball in MLB action this year, topping the 120.4 mph single he hit earlier in the game today. That’s quite a performance. Cruz is 19-for-64 (.297) in May with four home runs, 10 runs scored, and 11 RBI. He does have 18 strikeouts in 16 games, but his production has certainly started to tick up and if stolen bases follow, we could see a full breakout. Rotoworld Today, 7:24 pm
    • Andrew Abbott throws seven shutout in win
Andrew Abbott threw seven shutout innings in a win over the Padres on Tuesday, allowing just four hits.

Advice: Abbott struck out two and walked one. He now has a 2.68 ERA on the year, but he continues to struggle to miss bats. He’s struck out 43 hitters in 57 innings this year and has a swinging strike rate under eight percent. Tonight, he had eight whiffs on 45 swings with a 23 percent CSW. You can keep running Abbott out there in fantasy while he’s pitching well, but he seems like a prime sell-high candidate right now and a really risky start against the Dodgers this weekend. • Blanks San Diego in third win
Abbott (3-4) earned the win Tuesday over the Padres, allowing four hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Abbott's now gone seven innings in consecutive outings, allowing just one run on eight hits in that span. The southpaw has quietly put together a strong start to the season -- his ERA is down to 2.68 with a 1.09 WHIP and 43:15 K:BB across 10 starts (57 innings). Abbott will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently lined up for Sunday at home against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Today, 6:47 pm
    • José Ramirez has two hits, HR in win over Mets
José Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a win over the Mets on Tuesday.

Advice: Ramirez’s home run was a 380-foot shot off Adrian Houser at 101.5 mph off the bat for his 12th big fly of the season. He also added a two-out RBI double to give him 44 RBI on the season. The batting average may not be what fantasy managers are hoping for, but Ramirez is hitting the ball well and should be back to something resembling his usual triple slash in no time. • Homer, three RBI in win
Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and an RBI double in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Mets.

Advice: Ramirez extended Cleveland's lead to 3-0 in the third inning with a two-out double before cranking a two-run homer off Adrian Houser in the fifth, his 12th of the year. The 31-year-old Ramirez has gone 12-for-32 (.375) with three home runs and 13 RBI in his last eight contests. His slash line is up to .258/.305/.495 with 44 RBI, 31 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 210 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 6:33 pm

    • Jarren Duran homers, steals home vs. Rays
Jarren Duran went 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored in Tuesday’s win over the Rays.

Advice: Duran hit his third homer of the season in the sixth inning to tie the game at 2-2. In the top of the eighth inning, Durran caught the defense sleeping when he stole home after Rays catcher Ben Rortvedt threw down to second to try and catch Rafael Devers stealing. The Red Sox left fielder has now hit safely in seven straight games and is hitting .278 in the month of May.

    • Returning from suspension Sunday
Blanco (suspension) will be added to Houston's active roster to start Sunday at Oakland, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Astros unsurprisingly won't waste any time reinserting Blanco into the rotation upon the completion of his 10-game ban. The right-hander threw live batting practice Monday and shouldn't face any significant limitations in his first start back. Rotowire.com Today, 2:42 pm

    • Willson Contreras optimistic on earlier return
Willson Contreras (fractured forearm) has already had his cast removed.

Advice: The exact date is uncertain, but Contreras has been cast-less since at least last Friday, May 17. It may have been as early as May 11. “I’m really happy with how the process is going and how well I’m recovering,” Contreras said late last week. “The way I feel, I could say, it’s not going to be (until) the All-Star break. It could be earlier than that. I’m not going to say something that is going to get above the doctors’ opinion, but if you’re asking me how I’m feeling, I’m feeling great.” The Cardinals have yet to comment on Contreras potentially beating his All-Star week return projection, but it is now definitely within the realm of possibility.
