    • Gets day off
Encarnacion-Strand is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand will head to the bench in what looks to be a routine maintenance day after he had started in each of the Reds' last eight games. Spencer Steer will get a day out of the outfield and fill in at first base for Encarnacion-Strand, who has seen his season-long batting average dip below the Mendoza Line (.196) while going 1-for-14 with five strikeouts over his last four starts. • Christian Encarnacion-Strand not in lineup Sunday
Christian Encarnacion-Strand is not in the lineup for Sunday’s contest against the Rangers.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand has gone just 1-for-14 over his last four games, and Cincinnati will have the 24-year-old take a day off for the series finale against the Rangers. Spencer Steer is the starting first baseman with Nick Martini the designated hitter. Tyler Stephenson also gets the day off with Luke Maile behind the plate. Rotoworld Today, 9:50 am
    • Pete Alonso blasts eighth homer in loss to Cardinals
Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 7-4 win over the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Alonso cut the Cardinals lead to two runs with a two-run blast off Sonny Gray in the fifth inning. It was the eighth homer of the season for the 29-year-old slugger. He’s slashing .252/325/.515 with 14 RBI across 114 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:36 pm

    • Big effort in win
Busch went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Busch has been great so far in his first season with the Cubs, as he's slashing .289/.347/.554 with six home runs and 17 RBI across 24 games. The 26-year-old regularly sits against southpaws, but when a righty is on the mound, Busch looks like a strong fantasy asset at the moment. It helps him that the whole Chicago lineup is clicking during the team's 17-9 start, giving Busch plenty of chances to rack up stats. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:32 am

    • Michael Busch goes 3-for-4 in Cubs’ victory
Michael Busch went 3-for-4 with a double and a sac fly against the Red Sox on Friday.

Advice: Busch didn’t hit the ball very well tonight, but he hit it to all of the right spots. His double, which barely qualified as a hard-hit ball at 95.1 mph, would have been an out if not for the Green Monster. One of his other hits was a dribbler down the third base line that just would not go foul. Busch will take it; he came into this one 0-for-15 with nine strikeouts in his previous four games. • Delivers key hits in win
Encarnacion-Strand went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-1 win over Philadelphia.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand, in his first three-hit game of the season, produced in a couple of key moments in the contest. After the Phillies jumped to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, he delivered a two-out double in the bottom half to tie the game. Two innings later, Encarnacion-Strand gave the Reds a 2-1 lead with another two-out RBI on a single. He later got on base to lead off the fifth prior to Elly De La Cruz's home run. Encarnacion-Strand's been a streaky hitter in 2024 and entered the night batting just .190, but he's managed to deliver with two outs -- he's posted a .364 average with 11 of his 16 RBI in those situations. • CES has three hits in win over Phillies
Christian Encarnacion-Strand went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in a win over the Phillies.

Advice: It was a much-needed big game for CES, who raised his triple slash to .216/.220/.352 on the season. His hardest hit ball of the day was a 100 mph lineout, but he also had a single and a double that were each over 93.5 mph. It’s not lighting up a radar gun, but it’s nice to see him making consistent hard contact. The impressive depth that the Reds had at the start of the season is now gone due to injury, so he should have a long enough leash to work through his early season struggles. • Swats solo shot Monday
Alonso went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Giants.

Advice: Alonso accounted for the Mets' first run with a fifth-inning solo blast to left field. The long ball snapped a seven-game homerless drought for the slugger, and he had gone just 4-for-26 with one RBI during that stretch. Alonso still leads the team -- and is tied for third in the majors -- with seven homers on the campaign, though he's knocked in just 12 runs. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:38 pm

    • Pete Alonso hits seventh homer against Giants
Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 and homered against the Giants on Monday.

Advice: Unfortunately, Alonso couldn’t come through again in the ninth, when the Mets scored once off Camilo Doval but still fell three runs short. Alonso is tied for third in the majors with seven homers. Rotoworld Monday, 9:16 pm
