      Advice: Rodriguez connected for his second home run of the season on a two-run blast off Alex Wood in the second. He later doubled off the top of the wall to begin the fifth and merely just missed another home run. Rodriguez was the only Mariner with multiple extra-base hits in the game and has been seeing the ball much better lately, with the last six batted balls for him all traveling at least 100 mph. The 23-year-old has endured some struggles at the plate this season but is now slashing .255/.310/.323 with 13 RBI, 16 runs, nine steals and an 11:50 BB:K in 174 plate appearances.       Schuemann went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: Schuemann sent one deep off Luis Castillo in the fifth for his second home run of the year. That's now consecutive games with an extra-base hit and an RBI for Schuemann, who's slashing .280/.400/.520 with five RBI, six runs and a 5:5 BB:K over his late eight games.       Advice: Rooker stayed hot at the plate with his fourth multi-hit effort in his last five game and second home run over that span as well. Since the start of May, Rooker is slashing .441/.525/.882 with four homers, 12 RBI, 11 runs and a 6:7 BB:K in 40 plate appearances. He's now up to 10 long balls on the year and is one of 10 players with double digit home runs thus far.       Siani went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Brewers.

      Advice: Siani has slipped into a part-time role since Dylan Carlson returned from a shoulder injury. It appears to have lit a spark in Siani's game -- he's 10-for-21 (.476) over nine games in May. The outfielder is at a .250/.318/.300 slash line with three steals, two RBI, 12 runs scored, one double and one triple through 71 plate appearances this season. The 24-year-old's defense is his best attribute, but none of the Cardinals' outfielders have hit particularly well, so he could gain more playing time if his bat stays warm.       Buxton (knee) ran the bases at Target Field on Saturday, and the Twins are optimistic he can be activated from the injured list Tuesday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

      Advice: Diaz has yet to play a full game, but he did take a trio of plate appearances as the designated hitter when kicking off the rehab assignment Friday. He then progressed to playing defense Sunday, logging five innings at third base in the win over Round Rock. Diaz will probably continue to be given a day off between games for the time being given his age and the length of time it's taken for him to be able to return to game action.       Merrill went 3-for-4 with two steals and a run scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

      Advice: Merrill tallied at least three hits in a game for the fourth time this season and it was his 11th multi-hit game of his rookie campaign. Merrill hadn't swiped a bag since April 16 but managed to steal and eventually score in the fourth before taking another base in the eighth.       Nimmo (ribs) did not start Sunday night's game against Atlanta, but entered the game late and subsequently hit a walk-off homer in his only at-bat.

      Advice: During the broadcast, Nimmo was interviewed by the Sunday night ESPN crew and said that he expects to return Monday against the Phillies. To reinforce that point, Nimmo had two catches in left field in the eighth inning before his homer in the ninth.
