    • Joey Estes quiets M’s to net win in season debut
Joey Estes struck out five and allowed one run over five innings on Saturday in a win over the Mariners.

Advice: Estes was magnificent in his season debut, holding Seattle’s offense to just a second-inning homer by slugging backstop Cal Raleigh over five frames. The 22-year-old righty was hit hard in a pair of late-season starts last year for Oakland, and held an ERA north of six this year at Triple-A Las Vegas prior to his latest call-up, so we’re going to wait a bit before recommending him as a reliable fantasy option. However, this was an encouraging outing. He’ll look to keep the momentum going on Thursday when he faces the Astros, assuming the Athletics are going to give him another turn in the rotation. • Bryce Miller posts nine strikeouts in loss to A’s
Bryce Miller recorded nine strikeouts and allowed two runs over six innings in a loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Miller deserved a better fate in this one as he generated an eye-popping 17 swinging strikes, including six on his splitter alone, and finished with a strong 34 percent CSW. The 25-year-old righty has quietly taken a significant step forward this season, increasing his strikeout rate to 27.9 percent, while allowing two earned runs or fewer in six of his eight outings so far. He’ll bring a stellar 2.66 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 51/15 K/BB ratio across 47 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a tough road tilt on Friday against the Orioles. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

    • Tyler Anderson hurls 6 2/3 in win over Royals
Tyler Anderson yielded three runs over 6 2/3 innings on Saturday in a win over the Royals.

Advice: Anderson coughed up an RBI double to Salvador Perez in the opening frame, but managed to limit Kansas City’s lineup to just a pair of late runs in the sixth and seventh innings, respctively, over the remainder of his outing. He struck out four and only issued one walk. The 34-year-old southpaw has exceeded expectations so far, posting a solid 2.92 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 36/19 K/BB ratio across 49 1/3 innings (eight starts). He’ll face the division-rival Rangers on Friday in his next outing. Rotoworld Today, 4:24 am
    • Cole Ragans lit up for seven runs in loss to Halos
Cole Ragans was torched for seven runs over 6 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Angels.

Advice: The final line isn’t pretty, but it looks worse than it probably should as Ragans was charged with two additional runs following his exit from the contest when Nick Anderson allowed both inherited runners to cross the plate. A three-run homer by Jo Adell in the second inning was responsible for most of the damage against him in this one. The 26-year-old lefty notched only three strikeouts and issued one walk. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 57/16 K/BB ratio across 49 innings (nine starts) into a favorable home matchup on Friday against the Athletics. Rotoworld Today, 4:23 am

    • Big Maple silences Padres to collect fifth win
James Paxton fired six shutout innings on Saturday in a win over the Padres.

Advice: Paxton continues to excel in his Los Angeles debut, reeling off six scoreless frames to stun the division-rival Padres at Petco Park. He finished with four strikeouts, didn’t hand out a free pass, and allowed just six batted balls with an exit velocity in excess of 95 mph. The 35-year-old veteran southpaw has managed to stay healthy so far, and has been an impact fantasy contributor, despite a steep decline in strikeout percentage. He’s overdue for some regression in the run-prevention department, but he’s been effective so far. He’ll bring a sparkling 2.58 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 22/24 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a home outing on Thursday against the Reds. Rotoworld Today, 4:05 am
    • Matt Waldron gets zero run support in loss to Dodgers
Matt Waldron was charged with two runs over 5 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Waldron managed to limit Los Angeles’ formidable lineup to just one run into the sixth inning, but San Diego’s offense was unable to provide him with any run support at all in this one. It was a much-needed bounce-back effort after being torched for eight runs (seven earned) by the Diamondbacks his last time out. The 27-year-old knuckleballer will bring an inflated 5.49 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 35/15 K/BB ratio across 39 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a tough road matchup on Friday against the Braves. Rotoworld Today, 4:02 am
    • Ryan Feltner limits Rangers to two runs on Saturday
Ryan Feltner gave up two runs over six innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Rangers.

Advice: Feltner notched four strikeouts and only issued a pair of walks. He managed to navigate through Texas’ loaded lineup without incident until the fifth inning when Marcus Semien delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly and Nathaniel Lowe followed with an RBI single a couple batters later. The 27-year-old righty holds a lackluster 5.20 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 40/12 K/BB ratio across 45 innings (eight starts). He’ll square off against the Giants on Friday in a road matchup at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park. Rotoworld Today, 3:50 am
    • Andrew Heaney whiffs eight Saturday at Coors Field
Andrew Heaney posted a season-high eight strikeouts and allowed two runs over five innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Rockies.

Advice: Heaney drew a tough starting assignment on the road at high-octane Coors Field, but managed to limit Colorado’s lineup to just a pair of runs on eight hits over five frames. He induced a whopping 17 swinging strikes and finished with a near-elite 36 percent CSW. The 32-year-old lefty has settled into a groove his last few times out, allowing two earned runs or fewer in three consecutive outings since May 1. He’ll bring a serviceable 4.39 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 39/9 K/BB ratio across 41 innings (eight starts) into a home outing on Friday against the Angels. Rotoworld Today, 3:46 am

    • Trevor Megill hangs on Saturday for fourth save
Trevor Megill managed to hang on Saturday against the Cardinals for his fourth save of the season.

Advice: Megill made things interesting by surrendering a pair of two-out singles, which put the potential tying runs on-base, but managed to retire Nolan Arenado on a line drive to left field to extinguish the threat. The 30-year-old righty has reeled off six consecutive scoreless appearances since April 19 and looks like the favorite for saves in Milwaukee until All-Star stopper Devin Williams is ready to return around midseason.
