    • Hopeful that injury is minor
Riley (side) isn't overly concerned with his long-term availability and considers himself day-to-day, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Riley experienced left side tightness in batting practice Sunday and was ultimately removed from Atlanta's contest against the Mets in the fourth inning after going 1-for-2 at the plate. The third baseman doesn't know if he'll need an MRI, which is something he'll make a decision on Monday. With the team launching a three-game home series with the Cubs on Monday, there's a chance that Riley misses some, if not all, of the series as Atlanta will likely be cautious with the talented 26-year-old. • Austin Riley (side) hopeful to return this week
Austin Riley (side) told reporters on Sunday night that he’s hopeful to return to the Braves’ starting lineup at some point during the upcoming week.

Advice: Riley initially felt something in his side during batting practice but didn’t say anything. He then felt the discomfort again in the third inning on Sunday night and continued to play through it. Finally in the fifth inning, it was enough of a concern to mention something, which prompted his exit from the ballgame. He’ll probably miss a couple of games as a precautionary measure, but it doesn’t sound like Riley should require a trip to the injured list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:29 pm

    • Austin Riley leaves game with left side tightness
Austin Riley was removed from Sunday night’s battle against the Mets in the fifth inning due to tightness in his left side.

Advice: The Braves are calling his exit precautionary, but there’s still cause for concern. It’s unlikely that the club will have any additional updates until Monday. Fantasy managers should be sure to have a contingency plan in place for next week in the event that Riley is forced to miss a couple of games. Zack Short replaced him at third base on Sunday and could be in line for increased action if Riley does miss any time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:26 pm

    • Exits early versus Mets
Riley was removed from Sunday's contest against the Mets in bottom of the fourth inning with left side tightness, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Riley's removal from the contest has been described as precautionary according to Atlanta. The third baseman finished his night going 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout. Riley's status will likely be updated following the conclusion of the team's series finale with New York. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:22 pm

    • Turns in 30-pitch bullpen session
Rodriguez (shoulder) tossed a 30-pitch bullpen session Sunday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rodriguez said that he felt good following the workout, but he acknowledged that he didn't know whether he would be cleared to face hitters the next time he throws, or if he would continue the ramp-up process with another bullpen session. After being placed on the 15-day injured list May 1 with shoulder inflammation, Rodriguez is eligible for activation Wednesday, but he looks like he'll need at least a little time beyond that before he's ready to rejoin the Baltimore rotation. • Yandy Díaz homers in second straight game
Yandy Díaz went 1-for-4 with a walk, a home run, and two runs scored in a loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Díaz had a strong series against the Yankees, going 6-for-11 with two home runs across the three games. He’s starting to heat up a bit at the plate and has raised his slash line to .250/.313/.356 with three home runs and 19 RBI. The Rays lineup should trend up in the coming months, and Díaz could be starting to heat up as the summer approaches. Now might be the time to try and see if you can acquire him in a trade. • Sitting Sunday
D'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Mets.

Advice: D'Arnaud will get a breather Sunday after starting in each of the last four games. He's gone 4-for-18 in May but has registered a hit in each of his last three contests. Chadwick Tromp will start behind the plate and bat ninth against Mets right-hander Luis Severino. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:09 pm

    • Travis d’Arnaud sitting Sunday against Mets
Travis d’Arnaud is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: Instead, Atlanta will start Chadwick Tromp behind the plate while d’Arnaud rests. The 35-year-old backstop was excellent to begin 2024, but he’s struggled thus far in May with a .611 OPS over 18 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:41 pm

    • Rodriguez (shoulder) throws 30-pitch bullpen
Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session before Sunday’s game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Rodriguez told reporters after the session that he felt good, but he was unsure what the next step would be. The 24-year-old doesn’t believe he needs a rehab start, but Baltimore may choose to give him one before activating him off the injured list. Rodriguez can come off the IL on May 15, but there’s no timetable for when he’ll be activated just yet. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:08 am
