    • Picks up eighth save
Finnegan struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his eighth save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: He needed only six pitches, all strikes, to dispatch the middle of Miami's order. Finnegan hasn't allowed an earned run yet in April, converting all seven of his save chances on the month with a 9:4 K:BB through 9.2 innings. Hunter Harvey, who collected his eighth hold Friday with a clean eighth inning, has been more dominant to begin the season and has a 19:2 K:BB through 13 innings. For now though, Nats manager Dave Martinez is content to let him handle highest-leverage spots while Finnegan takes care of business in the ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 6:53 am
    • Mashes fifth homer
Semien went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Friday's victory over the Reds.

Advice: Semien's eighth-inning homer broke the tie in a game that had been deadlocked at 1-1 since the second frame, and it ended up being all that was needed to lift Texas over the Reds in Friday's low-scoring affair. The 33-year-old has now reached the 20-RBI mark in just 27 games, though he's gone just 4-for-25 with two RBI across his last six contests. Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 am

    • Braxton Garrett goes three innings in rehab start
Braxton Garrett (shoulder) allowed two runs over three innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Garrett struck out four and didn’t hand out a free pass. His fastball velocity still hasn’t returned to previous levels as he was sitting right around 90 mph in this outing. The 26-year-old lefty, who has battled shoulder issues since the outset of spring training, will likely require an additional rehab outing to continue building up his pitch count and stamina after throwing just 59 pitches (37 strikes) in this one. • Marcus Semien homers in eighth to lead Rangers
Marcus Semien hit his fifth homer Friday as the Rangers bested the Reds 2-1.

Advice: Semien nearly had two homers, but his 410-foot drive to center in the fifth, which Statcast said would have been gone in 18 parks, was caught at the wall. The actual homer was hit 392 feet and broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth. It gave hm 19 runs scored and 20 RBI in 27 games, even though it doesn’t seem like either he or the Rangers offense as a whole has really caught fire yet. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:22 pm

    • Expected back Saturday
Lowe (oblique) is expected to be activated from the injured list Saturday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lowe has been on a rehab assignment for roughly a week, but he was with the big-league club in Chicago on Friday. He's projected to be activated Saturday to make his season debut and will almost certainly occupy a prominent spot in a struggling Rays' lineup. It will also be notable where Lowe plays defensively, as he started three games in center field during his rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:55 pm

    • Homer, four hits in win
Smith went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double and three total RBI in Friday's 12-2 victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Smith slugged a solo home run off Trevor Richards in the fourth inning, his second long ball of the year. It's Smith's second straight four-hit game (he's gone 8-for-11 with three extra-base hits in that span) and already his fourth this season. The 29-year-old backstop is off to an excellent start, slashing a robust .376/.413/.527 with 21 RBI and 14 runs scored through his first 104 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm

    • Collects three hits
Bohm went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Friday's win over San Diego.

Advice: Bohm doubled and scored in the first inning and later added an RBI single in the fourth. He has multiple hits in five of his last six games, going 15-for-26 (.577) with seven doubles in the process. Bohm has boosted his slash line to a robust .347/.431/.568 with 14 extra-base hits and 22 RBI through 109 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:37 pm

    • J.T. Realmuto homers in victory over Padres
J.T. Realmuto went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer Friday in a victory over the Padres.

Advice: Realmuto turned a not-so-close game into a blowout with a two-run homer to extend Philadelphia’s lead from 7-1 to 9-1. The backstop also doubled and drew a walk for a very strong fantasy night from a catcher that has provided plenty of them in his career. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:28 pm

    • Dominant again in seventh save
Miller earned the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Orioles, striking out two in a perfect inning.

Advice: Miller delivered another lights-out performance Friday, stranding the free runner at second base in the 10th inning to seal a one-run Oakland victory. After allowing a pair of runs in his first appearance this year, Miller's held opponents scoreless in his subsequent 11.1 innings while giving up just one hit and one walk in his last seven appearances. The 25-year-old right-hander is up to seven saves on the year with a 1.46 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and an outstanding 18.24 K/9. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:39 pm
