    • Bryan Woo set to return on Friday against A’s
Bryan Woo (elbow) will start on Friday against the Athletics.

Advice: Woo will make his return to Seattle’s starting rotation after missing the opening six weeks of the regular season recovering from right elbow inflammation. The 24-year-old righty was sharp in his latest rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma with six strikeouts over five scoreless frames and shouldn’t have any workload restrictions in his season debut. It’s an extremely tasty matchup, which makes Woo a viable option for fantasy managers in all formats right out of the gate. Rotoworld Today, 1:33 pm

    • Starting Friday
Woo (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Athletics, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Advice: Woo has been on the injured list all year due to right elbow inflammation, but he has now been given the green light to make his season debut with the Mariners. The 24-year-old righty did not give up a run through 11.1 innings during his three rehab starts at Triple-A Tacoma, and he managed to strikeout 17 batters while walking none. Emerson Hancock is expected to be optioned to Tacoma once Woo is activated. Rotowire.com Today, 1:09 pm

    • Lifts homer in win
Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.

Advice: Santander is hitting just .227 over seven games in May and batting .215 on the year, but he has a homer in two of his last three contests. The outfielder has added a .737 OPS through 35 games this season, though that's still a decent margin behind last year's .797 mark. Santander is up to six homers, 24 RBI, 18 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple and no steals through 147 plate appearances while holding down a starting role in right field. • Encouraging MRI results
Rodriguez is close to being able to begin a throwing program after an MRI on Wednesday showed healing in his left shoulder, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Rodriguez has been sidelined all season and had to be shut down from throwing in mid-April after he felt renewed tightness in his shoulder. However, it appears the recent period of rest did him some good, and he's almost ready to ramp things back up again. The left-hander is still likely at least a month or so away from being able to join the Diamondbacks' rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 8:21 am
    • Eduardo Rodriguez ‘close’ to throwing program
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Eduardo Rodgriguez (lat) is close to beginning a throwing program.

Advice: Good news for the 31-year-old hurler. Lovullo also added that an MRI on Rodriguez’s lat is healing, but he’s still likely a month or so away from making his season debut. Rotoworld Today, 8:18 am
    • Solid in second win
Montgomery (2-2) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings in a 4-3 victory over the Reds. He struck out two.

Advice: While he again wasn't dominant, Montgomery worked seven frames for the second time in four starts since joining the Arizona rotation and delivered his third quality start. The veteran southpaw will take a 4.70 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 10:6 K:BB through 23 innings into his next outing, which lines up for a home rematch with Cincinnati early next week. • Locks down third save
Duran earned the save in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out one.

Advice: Duran entered the game with a 6-3 lead in the top of the ninth and needed nine pitches to record the first out. The right-handed reliever then managed to work his way back from a 3-0 count to retire Jorge Polanco on strikes for the final out of the game. It marked Duran's third save of the season, and he's now pitched a perfect inning in back-to-back appearances. He's also yet to walk a batter or allow a run across five innings. • Continues productive stretch
Judge went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and three total RBI against Houston in a 9-4 win Wednesday.

Advice: Judge tagged Houston pitching for three extra-base hits, the first time he's accomplished that feat in a game this season. The slugger swatted a solo shot in the third inning and knocked in two more runs with a double in the sixth. Judge is coming on quickly after a slow start to the campaign -- he's in the midst of a five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 9-for-18 with two homers, four doubles, four walks, six RBI, six runs and a stolen base. • Jhoan Duran shuts door on Mariners for third save
Jhoan Duran struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: After a pair of eighth-inning appearances, Duran got back to closing duties against the Mariners on Wednesday. Up by three runs, he entered in the ninth to close it out and tossed a clean frame, striking out the final batter to end the game with his third save. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:37 pm
