• Giovanny Gallegos (shoulder) starts rehab assignment
Giovanny Gallegos (shoulder) tossed a perfect inning on Friday in a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Gallegos has been out since early May due to a right shoulder impingement, but appears to be getting close to returning to St. Louis. The 32-year-old veteran reliever struggled in 13 appearances to open the season and can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago
  • Shelby Miller sharp on Friday in rehab appearance
Shelby Miller (elbow) tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings on Friday in a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: Miller gave up one hit and struck out a pair of batters in his latest rehab outing. The 33-year-old veteran reliever doesn’t appear to be far off from rejoining Detroit’s bullpen mix. Rotoworld 57 minutes ago

  • Rockies re-sign John Curtiss to minor league pact
Rockies re-signed RHP John Curtiss to a minor league contract.

Advice: Curtiss is back in the fold with Colorado just a few days after electing free agency following his removal from the club’s 40-man roster. The 31-year-old righty returns to Triple-A Albuquerque as emergency relief depth. Rotoworld Today, 4:22 am

  • Marlins outright Eli Villalobos to Triple-A
Marlins sent RHP Eli Villalobos outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Villalobos passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 26-year-old righty has been removed from Miami’s 40-man roster, but will remain with the organization as extra relief depth. Rotoworld Today, 4:21 am

  • A’s put Lucas Erceg (forearm) on 15-day IL
Athletics placed RHP Lucas Erceg on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm strain.

Advice: Erceg is dealing with a mild forearm strain, according to Athletics manager Mark Kotsay, which seems to indicate that he’s not facing an extended absence. The 29-year-old righty has been a revelation this season in a set-up role ahead of flame-throwing stopper Mason Miller, posting a 2.86 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 27/8 K/BB ratio across 22 innings (21 appearances). • Allows four runs in no-decision
Soriano allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Soriano left the game in line for the loss, but Jo Adell's grand slam off the bench spared the right-hander from a second straight defeat. Soriano has allowed four runs in five of his outings this year, including three of his last five starts. He's at a 3.86 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 52:25 K:BB over 58.1 innings across 12 appearances (10 starts) on the season. The 25-year-old is projected to make his next start at home versus the Padres. • Takes second loss
Hicks (4-2) allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.1 innings, taking the loss versus the Yankees on Friday.

Advice: Aaron Judge did most of the damage against Hicks, taking him deep for a three-run home run in the third inning and a solo shot in the sixth. The five runs allowed were the most Hicks has given up in a start this season, though it was a positive to see him issue no walks for the fourth time in 12 outings. Homers are becoming a problem for the right-hander -- he's allowed five of them over his last four starts after giving up just one across his first eight outings. For the season, Hicks is at a strong 2.70 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP and 52:19 K:BB over 63.1 innings. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Arizona. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:34 pm

  • Grabs four-out save
Beeks struck out two over 1.1 perfect innings to earn the save in Friday's 4-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Beeks faced runners on the corners with two outs in the eighth inning after relieving Victor Vodnik, and he was able to strike out Freddie Freeman. Beeks stayed in for the ninth and kept his line clean to earn his second save in three outings. He allowed a run in four straight appearances from May 22-27, allowing Tyler Kinley to work his way into the closer conversation, but Beeks is still in the mix as well. He leads the Rockies with six saves and has added a 2.93 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 23:13 K:BB over 27.2 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:18 pm

  • Strong in second win
Hudson (2-7) allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out three over seven-plus innings in Friday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Hudson allowed three baserunners through seven innings, but he put the first two batters aboard in the eighth, and one of them came around to score. This was Hudson's second quality start in a row, and he's achieved that against the Phillies and the Dodgers, the two best teams in the National League. It's too soon to say the right-hander has turned his season around, especially with Coors Field as his home park, but he's pitched well lately. Hudson has a 5.02 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 31:29 K:BB through 57.1 innings over 11 starts on the year. He's projected for a home start versus the Reds his next time out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:12 pm
