• Mitch Spence gives up four runs in no-decision
Mitch Spence wasn’t at his best in a no-decision against the Twins on Friday night, surrendering four runs on nine hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: Spence punched out three batters on the evening while issuing one base on balls. He had allowed just a second-inning RBI triple to Byron Buxton until Max Kepler uncorked a game-tying three-run shot in the sixth inning. Spence got eight swings and misses on 83 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of only 22 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he totes a 3.95 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 43/14 K/BB ratio (57 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Royals. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:44 pm

  • Chased early in loss
Littell (2-5) yielded seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and a walk over two innings Friday, striking out two and taking a loss against Atlanta.

Advice: Atlanta jumped all over Littell right out of the gate, tallying five runs in the first and two more in the second. It was Littell's shortest outing of the year and he saw his ERA jump from 3.63 to 4.24 in the process. Over his last six starts, he's posted a 5.79 ERA in 31.2 frames. Still looking for his first win since May 11, Littell's next start is projected to be in Minnesota. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:33 pm

  • Sean Manaea strikes out seven in win
Sean Manaea allowed one earned run in five-plus innings of work on Friday in a 2-1 win over the Padres. He struck out seven and walked one.

Advice: This was a nice bounce-back for Manaea after a rough outing in London last weekend. He leaned on his two-seamer for a bevy of called strikes and whiffs as he crowded the Padres hitters all night. Their only hard-hit ball was Jackson Merrill’s impressive solo shot to center field through the rain. Still, Manaea is a true five-and-dive throwing fewer than six innings in five straight outings and in 10 of his 13 starts this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:16 pm

  • Zack Littell allows seven runs in two innings
Zack Littell imploded on Friday giving up six earned runs in just two innings against the Braves. He struck out two, walked one, and took the loss.

Advice: Littell unraveled in the first inning as the first five Braves that came to the plate got a hit with four going for extra bases. Then, he committed a shockingly bad throwing error on a swinging bunt by Adam Duvall and was yanked after the second inning. His ERA rose from 3.63 to 4.24 in this disastrous start. • Braves sign RHP Matt Carasiti to minors deal
Braves signed RHP Matt Carasiti to minor league contract.

Advice: Carasiti had a 10.38 ERA in seven appearances out of the bullpen with the Rockies this year. He’ll head to Triple-A and serve as organizational depth for the Braves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:35 am

  • Collects save Tuesday
Stanek pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Stanek earned the win Monday after the Mariners won in walk-off fashion, and he was able to protect a lead Tuesday. The right-hander has pitched back-to-back days twice in the last week, while Andres Munoz, who recently dealt with a back injury, has taken the mound just once in that span. Stanek has had mixed results as a setup man in 2024, posting a 4.21 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB over 25.2 innings while adding five saves, 10 holds and two blown saves. • Ryne Stanek earns fifth save for Mariners
Ryne Stanek notched his fifth save with a perfect ninth versus the White Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: Andrés Muñoz (back) was obviously unavailable again tonight. The Mariners are calling Muñoz day-to-day, but if that changes, Stanek will be worth using in mixed leagues. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:53 pm

  • Bounces back with win Monday
Stanek (4-1) got the win over the White Sox on Monday, allowing two hits and recording three strikeouts over a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Stanek got a couple of days to rest his arm and clear his head after taking a loss against the Royals in a 24-pitch outing Saturday, and the veteran was able to bounce back during a laborious but successful ninth inning. The right-hander worked around a pair of singles he allowed to Oscar Colas and Nicky Lopez by recording swinging strikeouts of Korey Lee, Corey Julks and Luis Robert. Stanek then became the pitcher of record when Cal Raleigh slugged a walk-off grand slam in the home half of the final frame, capping off the reliever's sixth scoreless effort in the last seven outings with a victory. • Hits open market
    Carasiti elected free agency Monday.

Advice: Carasiti was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Saturday, and rather than reporting to Triple-A Albuquerque, he'll test free agency. The 32-year-old has appeared in seven games for Colorado in 2024, posting a 10.38 ERA and 2.19 WHIP with seven strikeouts and three walks over 8.2 frames. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:53 pm
