• Returns from Triple-A IL
Triple-A Reno reinstated Barrosa (hamstring) from the 7-day injured list Friday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Barrosa has been on the shelf since late April due to a right hamstring strain. He began playing rehab games in the Arizona Complex League last week, going 4-for-16 with three RBI across four games, and he's been given the green light to return to the Aces' lineup. The 23-year-old outfielder is slashing 308/.438/.462 across 48 Triple-A plate appearances and made his MLB debut earlier this season, going 2-for-10 with an RBI in three games against the Yankees in early April. • Making another rehab start
Boyle (back) will make another rehab start at Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Boyle built up to 43 pitches during his previous rehab start Wednesday, and he'll officially remain in the minors for at least one more start as he continues to build toward a starter's workload. The 24-year-old right-hander gave up four runs without recording an out during his first Triple-A outing May 23, but he bounced back with 2.1 scoreless frames in his second appearance while striking out three batters and walking two. • Outrighted to Triple-A
Reetz was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday after clearing waivers.

Advice: Reetz has struggled in the majors this season, going 1-for-12 while striking out four times across five appearances. He'll remain within the Giants organization and look to find his swing again in the minors. Rotowire.com Today, 3:57 pm

  • Outrighted to Triple-A
McKenna cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Sacramento, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: McKenna was DFA'd for the second time this season Tuesday, though he will clear waivers this time around and remain within the Giants organization. The 27-year-old outfielder put up a .244/.333/.444 slash line with the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate, but he would likely have to further improve upon those numbers before drawing consideration for a return to San Francisco. Hoskins will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth in Friday's game against the White Sox.

  • Brewers activate Rhys Hoskins from 10-day IL
Brewers activated 1B Rhys Hoskins from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The 31-year-old slugger will make his triumphant return to the Brewers’ starting lineup on Friday night against the White Sox. Prior to landing on the injured list with a right hamstring strain, Hoskins was hitting .233/.340/.474 with nine homers and 27 RBI through his first 38 games. Rotoworld Today, 3:47 pm

  • Sent back to Nashville
The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Advice: Miller was recalled from Nashville earlier in May to provide depth as Rhys Hoskins (hamstring) headed to the injured list. Now that Hoskins is back, Miller will be pushed back to Triple-A. The 27-year-old infielder has slashed .185/.185/.222 across 27 big-league plate appearances this season, but he figures to be on the shortlist for a return to Milwaukee should the Brewers run into more depth issues. • Activated from IL
The Brewers reinstated Hoskins (hamstring) from the injured list Friday.

Advice: Hoskins has been on the injured list since he strained his right hamstring during a game against Pittsburgh on May 13. He was originally expected to come off the IL during Milwaukee's upcoming road series in Philadelphia, but the slugging first baseman will instead return a few days early without playing in any rehab games. Hoskins should immediately return to a near-everyday role for the Brewers, though he may see more action as a DH as he gets his hamstring used to playing in games again. Owen Miller was optioned to Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 3:42 pm
