    • Out for Game 1 of twin bill
Kepler (elbow) is out of the lineup for the opening game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Athletics.

Advice: The Twins are facing southpaw JP Sears in the first game of the day, so the lefty-hitting Kepler might not have been included in the lineup even if he wasn't nursing a sore elbow. Kepler could still be a candidate to start in the nightcap, when the Athletics will send right-hander Joey Estes to the hill. Rotowire.com Today, 11:33 am

    • Avoids structural damage to knee
Winker, who is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, said an MRI on his right knee showed no structural damage, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Winker noted, however, that he's still dealing with some stiffness in his right knee, which he injured while running the bases in the first inning of Saturday's 4-0 win before he was pulled in the third inning. The 30-year-old said that he expects to be good to go after a couple of days of rest, and he'll benefit from the Nationals being off Monday before the team begins a three-game set with the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. • Kepler out for first game of doubleheader
Max Kepler is not in the lineup for the first game of the doubleheader against the Athletics on Sunday.

Advice: Kepler is dealing with elbow soreness, and he’ll get at least the first game of the twin billing against Oakland off. It’s possible the 31-year-old wouldn’t be playing anyway with southpaw JP Sears on the mound for the A’s. Stay tuned to see if he returns for game two of the doubleheader. Rotoworld Today, 8:53 am

    • MRI reveals no structural damage in Winker’s knee
An MRI on Jesse Winker’s right knee revealed know structural damage.

Advice: The clean imaging is great news for Winker, and the expectation is that he’ll be able to return to the lineup after a couple of days of rest. He’s out of action for Sunday’s game against the Marlins, and isn’t likely to be available off the bench. Rotoworld Today, 8:41 am

    • Not starting Sunday
Winker (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Winker required an MRI after exiting Saturday's 4-0 win with a right knee injury, and while the results of his medical tests haven't yet been revealed, he'll be forced to miss out on at least one start. With Winker out of the lineup Sunday, Ildemaro Vargas will pick up a start in left field. Rotowire.com Today, 8:31 am

    • Mashes grand slam
Melendez went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Melendez put the Royals on top with a two-out grand slam in the top of the sixth, drawing 12 pitches in the at-bat before jumping on a hanging cutter from Blake Treinen. The 25-year-old also recorded an infield single earlier in the contest, giving him his first multi-hit effort since May 10 against the Angels. Melendez is batting just .152 in June with and Saturday actually marked the first time this month in which he's strung together hits in back-to-back contests. On a positive note, he now has three homers in his last eight games to go along with 10 RBI and four runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 7:31 am

    • Corbin Carroll doubles twice in loss to White Sox
Corbin Carroll hit two doubles while scoring twice in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Carroll was one of the few hitters who had any success against Erick Fedde and the White Sox bullpen, and he scored the only two runs in the contest for the D-Backs. It’s nice to see some extra-base hits from the 23-year-old, as he had picked up just three of them this month prior to Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:08 pm

    • Picks up steal Saturday
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a walk, one stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Garcia has two steals over his last six games, though he hasn't driven in a run in that span. The veteran outfielder is up to six thefts, 13 home runs, 40 RBI and 34 runs scored while slashing a shaky .218/.276/.417 through 67 contests. He's been held without a hit in 12 of his last 20 games, which has had a significant negative impact on his production across the board. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:37 pm

    • Early exit Saturday
Eovaldi (3-3) allowed four runs on four hits and four walks while striking out six over three innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Mariners.

Advice: Eovaldi needed 75 pitches (46 strikes) to get through three innings, and the Rangers weren't able to get him off the hook for the loss. It's possible the Rangers are still taking it easy on him after a groin injury sidelined him for much of May. Eovaldi has allowed nine runs over 18.2 innings across four starts since he returned from the injured list. He's at a 3.15 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 64:24 K:BB through 60 innings over 11 starts this season. He's projected for a tough home matchup versus the Royals in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:29 pm
