    • Pete Crow-Armstrong starts versus lefty opener
Pete Crow-Armstrong is in the Cubs lineup against a lefty Wednesday for just the second time as a major leaguer.

Advice: Seeing Crow-Armstring and Michael Busch in and Patrick Wisdom out of the lineup against a lefty is odd, but it’s because the Giants are likely to treat starter Erik Miller as a true opener and lift him before he faces Crow-Armstrong even once in the ninth spot. This will be Miller’s fifth start, but he’s yet to get more than five outs in any of them. Rotoworld Today, 9:04 am
    • Playing time likely to rise
Crow-Armstrong will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: With Mike Tauchman (groin) landing on the 10-day injured list, Crow-Armstrong looks like he could have a clear path to regular playing time in the Chicago outfield. Crow-Armstrong has now drawn starts in both of the Cubs' games since Tauchman's placement on the IL. The 22-year-old brings elite defense to center field, but he's thus far managed a pitiful .173/.240/.236 slash line through his first 125 big-league plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 8:57 am
    • Out against left-hander
McCarthy is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Nationals.

Advice: Left-hander Patrick Corbin is toeing the slab for the Nationals, so the lefty-hitting McCarthy will begin the game on the bench. Randal Grichuk will patrol right field for the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Today, 8:51 am
    • Another multi-hit effort Tuesday
Andujar went 2-for-4 with an RBI infield single in a win over the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: The hot-hitting veteran kept rolling Tuesday, authoring his fifth two-hit tally in the last nine games while recording his first RBI since June 1. Andujar hasn't provided much pop of late -- he counts a pair of doubles as his only extra-base hits in that aforementioned nine-game span -- but his .314/.326/.430 slash line across 89 plate appearances this season is essentially above reproach. • Doubles, scores in return to bigs
Butler, promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas earlier in the day, went 1-for-3 with a double and a run in a win over the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: The speedy outfielder churned out his fifth double and seventh extra-base hit overall at the big-league level this season in the fourth inning and subsequently crossed the plate on Zack Gelof's three-run home run. Butler has a path to playing time now that Seth Brown has been jettisoned from the 40-man roster, but the former must cut down on the strikeouts that plagued him during his first Athletics stint this season and eventually helped lead to his demotion. • Doubles in majors return
Nevin, summoned from Triple-A Las Vegas earlier in the day, went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run in win over the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: Nevin wasted no time carrying over the momentum he'd built up while toiling for the Aviators in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League, lacing his fourth two-bagger of the season one inning after drawing a free pass and coming around to score on Zack Gelof's three-run home run. Nevin drew the start at third base Tuesday and could work himself into some fairly regular playing time at either corner infield spot or designated hitter if he continues to swing a hot bat. • Big day in extra-inning win
Sanchez went 3-for-5 with a double, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

Advice: The 26-year-old got the Marlins' offense rolling by taking Lance Lynn deep during the first inning of an eventual 9-8 victory. It was Sanchez's first homer and first multi-hit performance in June, snapping a 13-game swoon in which he'd gone just 8-for-43 (.186) with a 0:15 BB:K. On the season, he's slashing .241/.286/.365 with five homers, six steals, 18 runs and 27 RBI in 65 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 8:33 am

    • Justyn-Henry Malloy takes seat Wednesday
Justyn-Henry Malloy, who went 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts in his last three starts, is on the bench for the second time in four games today.

Advice: The Tigers are picking Akil Baddoo and Andy Ibáñez over Malloy today. Malloy has hit the ball hard when he makes contact — his average exit velocity is 93 mph — but he’s collected just six hits and has fanned 19 times in 46 plate appearances. We’d say he deserves a longer look, but the Tigers might consider sending him down and bringing back Parker Meadows. Rotoworld Today, 8:24 am

    • Knocks eighth homer Tuesday
Raley went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a win over the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Raley's 371-foot shot to left in the fifth inning extended the Mariners' lead to 6-1 while serving as his second homer in the last six games and fourth of June overall. The offseason arrival has followed up his career year with the Rays last season in reasonably good form, as he's now sporting a solid .258 average and .749 OPS across 62 games.
