    • Activated and in Monday's lineup
The Red Sox activated Gonzalez (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Gonzalez has missed most of June with a hamstring issue but is ready to roll following a brief rehab assignment. He is starting at second base and batting sixth Monday against Blue Jays left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

    • Red Sox activate Romy Gonzalez from 10-day IL
Red Sox activated INF/OF Romy Gonzalez from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Gonzalez missed two weeks with a hamstring strain. He’ll mostly play second base against lefties for now. Once Vaughn Grissom returns, the Red Sox figure to demote either Gonzalez or Enmanuel Valdez. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago

    • Absent from lineup
McKinstry is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Atlanta.

Advice: He and Ryan Kreidler have split the starts at shortstop down the middle with four apiece since Javier Baez (back) went on the injured list. McKinstry has now been on the bench for all three contests versus lefties, as Atlanta is starting southpaw Max Fried on Monday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:09 pm

    • Called up from Triple-A
The Dodgers recalled Vargas from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.

Advice: Shortstop Mookie Betts (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move, but Vargas isn't expected to get the first chance to replace the seven-time All-Star in the Dodgers' everyday lineup. Instead, manager Dave Roberts suggested after Sunday's 3-0 win over the Royals that Miguel Rojas would likely step in as the Dodgers' primary shortstop, so Vargas could be limited to the short-side platoon role in the corner outfield that he previously held during his three-plus-week stay with the big club earlier in the season. Vargas saw extended time at second base with the Dodgers and Oklahoma City in 2023, but he's played exclusively in left field and at designated hitter in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 1:06 pm

    • Takes seat Monday
Perez is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Atlanta.

Advice: After starting each of the previous seven games, Perez will take a seat Monday as Atlanta goes with southpaw Max Fried on the mound. Matt Vierling will be in right field for the Tigers. Rotowire.com Today, 1:06 pm

    • Dodgers call up Vargas to take Betts’ roster spot
Dodgers recalled OF Miguel Vargas from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: While fantasy managers might get excited about seeing Vargas back up in the big leagues, it doesn’t seem like he’s at all a candidate to see infield time; he hasn’t played an inning anywhere other than left field this year. The Dodgers have said that Miguel Rojas and Enrique Hernández will fill in at shortstop while Mookie Betts is in on the IL. Vargas can take over Hernández’s outfield innings, but it doesn’t seem like a particularly large role to fill and, as such, Vargas should be left on waiver wires for now. • Out of Toronto lineup
Horwitz is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Red Sox.

Advice: Horwitz had started each of the last seven games versus right-handers upon his promotion and batted either first or second in all of those contests, but he will begin this one on the bench as the Red Sox sent righty Nick Pivetta to the hill. Davis Schneider gets the call at second base Monday, with Daulton Varsho handling left field and Kevin Kiermaier center. Rotowire.com Today, 12:43 pm
    • Michael Massey starting rehab at AAA
Royals 2B Michael Massey (back) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday night with Triple-A Omaha.

Advice: Massey has been sidelined with a back injury since May 26th. The 26-year-old has had two instances of the same back injury this season, and this most recent one required an anti-inflammatory injection, which is not great news. However, he does seem to be on the way back, which is good news for the Royals and fantasy managers. He should slot right back into an everyday role when he returns, but it might take him at least a week to get to that point. Rotoworld Today, 12:33 pm
    • Ready for rehab assignment
Massey (back) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Omaha.

Advice: On the shelf with a low back ligament sprain, Massey received an injection May 31 and appears to have responded favorably. He was cleared to resume baseball activities early last week and has checked out fine after steadily increasing the intensity of his hitting and running over the last several days. The Royals haven't determined how long Massey's rehab assignment will last, but he may only need two or three games with Omaha to get his timing back at the plate before potentially making his return from the 10-day injured list as soon as this weekend.
