It was just his second extra-base hit over his past 16 contests, a span in which he's batted .264 (14-for-53). Bailey has a modest five long balls on the campaign, but he's been solid offensively with a .286/.360/.435 slash line, 23 RBI, 18 runs, two steals, an 11.5 percent walk rate and a 19.0 percent strikeout rate over 179 plate appearances.       Zach Neto hit a two-run homer Monday to lead the Angels to a 5-3 win over the Brewers.

      Advice: Angels manager Ron Washington has utterly refused to hit Neto in the top half of the order, but the 23-year-old has been one of the team’s best players in batting .249/.297/.440 with 10 homers in 260 plate appearances. He’s not yet a finished product and it’s possible he’ll struggle to reach his true potential while playing for one of MLB’s most dysfunctional franchises, but the sky really is the limit here.       Advice: The 27-year-old's only hit in this game was a big one as he tied the score at 4-4 with a three-run blast off JoJo Romero in the eighth. De La Cruz is already up to 12 homers in 2024 after he totaled 19 long balls in 153 games last year. The power production helps offset De La Cruz's underwhelming .242/.295/.416 slash line.       Miguel Rojas went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored against the Rockies on Monday.

      Advice: Sure, Jazz Chisholm Jr. doesn’t seem to like him, but how badly did the Marlins botch things by trading Rojas for a prospect they didn’t even want a year and a half ago? Rojas is batting .292/.339/.460 in 121 plate appearances this season, and he’ll serve as the Dodgers’ primary shortstop while Mookie Betts is out.       Greg Jones hit his first major league homer as a pinch-hitter Monday against the Dodgers.

      Advice: Jones, a longtime Rays prospect, took fellow former Rays pitcher JP Feyereisen deep tonight. It’s Jones’ first hit in five at-bats since his callup 11 days ago. The Rockies, who are suffering for their utter inability to manage a 40-man roster, have given Jones just one start since calling him up from Triple-A.       Advice: Alvarez singled and scored in the fifth inning before delivering RBI base hits in the sixth and eighth frames. He entered Monday's game in a 2-for-14 (.143) slump since returning from the injured list. Alvarez produced his first multi-hit game since April 11.       Advice: Winn took A.J. Puk deep in the top of the 12th to give St. Louis a two-run lead, which was the difference in the game as Miami tallied a run in the bottom of the frame. The shortstop has settled in nicely atop the Cardinals lineup, where he's batted in his past 11 appearances and 18 times overall this season. The counting stats are lagging a tad with only four home runs, 25 runs and 26 RBI through 65 contests, but the 22-year-old's .295/.339/.429 slash line is impressive.       The A’s have decided to cut J.D. Davis, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

      Advice: This is the move to make room for Lawrence Butler. We’re hard-pressed to see how Davis is worse than Seth Brown or even Abraham Toro, who has been pretty terrible since the A’s decided to make him their leadoff man.
