    • Kodai Senga (shoulder) to face hitters next week
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is scheduled to face hitters on Monday in a live batting practice session.

Advice: Senga remains unlikely to make his season debut until late May, at the earliest, but this latest development represents a massive step forward in his rehabilitation process from a shoulder injury that sent him to the injured list back in spring training. Rotoworld Today, 4:42 am

    • Nathan Eovaldi doesn’t let walks get him down
Despite walking five, Nathan Eovaldi allowed just one run over six innings Friday against the Reds.

Advice: All three hits Eovaldi allowed were singles, and he struck out eight. Eovaldi wasn’t involved in the decision, so he remains 1-2 with a 3.00 ERA through six starts. He’s due to face the Nationals next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:22 pm

    • Fans nine over seven scoreless
Lugo (4-1) earned the win Friday in Detroit after he struck out nine and allowed three hits and two walks across seven scoreless innings.

Advice: The right-hander generated 13 swinging strikes on 103 pitches as he and Detroit starter Reese Olson combined to give up just one run in 14 frames. The swing-and-miss stuff from Lugo was a step in the right direction after he posted a 4.1 K/9 through his first five starts of the season. The beginning of Lugo's tenure in Kansas City couldn't have gone much better though, as he has a 1.66 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 38 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:48 pm

    • Making another rehab start
Manager Dave Roberts said Friday on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that Buehler (elbow) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday before potentially joining the Dodgers.

Advice: The right-hander threw 86 pitches and allowed five runs (three earned) over 4.1 innings Wednesday for Oklahoma City, and the Dodgers don't feel he's quite ready to make his 2024 debut. Buehler's performance in five starts during the rehab assignment has been underwhelming with a 4.86 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB over 16.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:30 pm

    • Seth Lugo fires seven scoreless to defeat Tigers
Seth Lugo delivered a masterful performance in Friday afternoon’s victory over the Tigers, racking up nine strikeouts over seven innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: Lugo scattered just three hits and a pair of walks on the afternoon. All of the hits that he did allow were singles, and the Tigers never really mounted a serious scoring threat against him. He got 13 swings and misses on 103 pitches on the day, posting an elite CSW of 35 percent. He has been everything the Royals could have hoped for so far — going 4-1 with a minuscule 1.66 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 23/9 K/BB ratio across 38 innings through his first six starts. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he does battle against the Blue Jays in Toronto on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:18 pm

    • Facing hitters Monday
Senga (shoulder) threw an up-and-down bullpen session Thursday and is slated to face hitters Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It will be the right-hander's first time facing hitters since he was diagnosed with a shoulder capsule strain back in late February. Senga still faces a long road ahead, but he's making progress and is closing in on a rehab assignment. He is on the 60-day injured list and not eligible for activation until late May. • Reaches three times, swipes base
Betts went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run and a stolen base against the Nationals in Thursday's 2-1 victory.

Advice: Betts scored the decisive run in the contest by walking, swiping second base and crossing the plate on a Freddie Freeman double in the eighth inning. Betts seems to be running more frequently so far this season -- the stolen base was his sixth of the campaign through 27 contests, putting him well on pace to reach 20 steals for the first time since 2018. That has to be sweet music to his fantasy managers' ears, and Betts is paying huge dividends in other areas as well, slashing .374/.477/.636 with six homers, 21 RBI and 27 runs. • Impressive again Thursday
Yamamoto (2-1) earned the win over Washington on Thursday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Despite a rough season debut, Yamamoto has thus far lived up to the billing that netted him a 12-year, $325 million contract in the offseason, as he's tossed a scoreless outing of at least five frames in half of his six starts so far. The Japanese hurler's outing Thursday was his second straight quality start and lowered his season ERA to 3.54. Yamamoto also holds a 1.07 WHIP and 37:6 K:BB through 28 innings. • Mookie Betts tallies two hits, steals base in win
Mookie Betts went 2-for-3 with his sixth stolen base of the season on Thursday in the Dodgers’ win over the Nationals.

Advice: Betts continues to serve as Los Angeles’ primary offensive catalyst, which is even more unbelievable considering he’s playing shortstop everyday for the first time in his professional career. It’s unreal. The 31-year-old fantasy superstar’s latest multi-hit effort raises his batting average to a sublime .374 (40-for-107) mark to go along with 27 runs scored, six homers, 21 RBI and six steals through 27 games.
