      The Twins activated Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

      Advice: Minnesota will finally have its closer healthy and available after Duran missed the first month of the season due to an oblique strain. The right-hander labored a bit during his first rehab outing, but he looked like himself during his second and final appearance Saturday, as he averaged 101.8 mph with his fastball. Manager Rocco Baldelli hasn't officially indicated whether or not Duran will immediately slot back in as the Twins' closer, but he seems likely to get ninth-inning chances sooner than later.     • Twins activate Jhoan Duran for Tuesday return
      Twins activated RHP Jhoan Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list.

      Advice: Duran will make his season debut this week, reclaiming his role as Minnesota’s closer, following a one-month stint on the injured list to open the year. He was sent to Triple-A St. Paul for a rehab assignment over the weekend and it appears all went well and he’s been given the green light to return to the active roster.     • Nick Castellanos goes 0-for-4 in loss to Angels
      Nick Castellanos went 0-for-4 in the loss to the Angels on Monday.

      Advice: While Castellanos’s track record certainly suggests that he will hit, this has been awfully ugly; he’s batting just .173/.242/.218 through 120 plate appearances. The only players with worse OPSs currently qualified for the batting title are rookie second basemen (Colt Keith and Enmanuel Valdez). Castellanos has always been worse than most in recognizing which pitches to swing at, but his natural talent at putting bat to ball has made up for it.       Nimmo went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Monday's 3-1 loss to the Cubs.

      Advice: Nimmo's first-inning homer was the lone run scored by the Mets on Monday, as the team was held to four hits in total.       Pepiot (3-2) yielded two hits over six shutout frames Monday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Brewers.

      Advice: Pepiot was nearly untouchable Monday, allowing just one Brewer to reach scoring position. At one point, he retired 14 consecutive batters. He's produced three straight quality starts and four in his six appearances this year. Over his last outings, Pepiot has given up just two runs with an 18:5 K:BB through 18 innings.       Neris worked around two walks to pitch a clean ninth inning and record the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Mets. He struck out two.

      Advice: Neris put a few runners on base, but he got out of trouble to secure his fourth save of the season. All of those saves have come in the last nine days, which coincides with Adbert Alzolay getting removed from the closer's role. The more success Neris has moving forward, the firmer his grip will get on the job, which will only increase his fantasy value. The veteran is the top Chicago reliever to target at the moment.       Ryan Pepiot went six scoreless innings and punched out seven batters in Monday’s 1-0 win against the Brewers.

      Advice: Pepiot has now made it through six innings in three straight starts. After allowing four or more earned runs in two of his first three starts this season, the 26-year-old has found his rhythm and hasn’t allowed more than one run in his last three outings. Opponents are now batting .168 against the right-hander and he now has 38 strikeouts through his first six starts.       Brandon Nimmo belted a leadoff homer on Monday in the Mets’ loss to the Cubs.

      Advice: Nimmo took Cubs starter Jameson Taillon deep to open the ballgame with his third long ball of the season. It was the first time he’s gone deep since a two-home explosion back on April 8. Unfortunately, it was all New York’s offense would muster for the remainder of the contest as they wound up with just three additional hits against Taillon and relievers Mark Leiter Jr. and Héctor Neris.       Héctor Neris tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Monday against the Mets to record his fourth save of the season.

      Advice: Neris continues to tighten his hold on Chicago’s closing role, converting four of his five save chances, including three in the last week alone since Adbert Alzolay was removed from the late-inning mix.
