Bryce Elder strikes out six in no-decision Sunday
Bryce Elder looked sharp in a no-decision against the Mets on Sunday night, striking out six batters over 5 1/3 innings of two-run baseball.
Advice: The right-hander scattered seven hits on the evening and didn’t allow a base on balls. Pete Alonso was responsible for all of the damage that was done against him, with an RBI single in the third inning and a run-scoring double in the sixth. Elder generated just seven swings and misses on 85 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 28 percent. Still 1-1 on the season, he’ll bring a 4.79 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and a 16/8 K/BB ratio (20 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Padres.
