    • Blows save Monday
Diaz (1-2) allowed two runs on a hit, a hit batsman and two walks without striking out a batter in one-third of an inning to take the loss and a blown save Monday versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Diaz loaded the bases with back-to-back one-out walks, and Kevin Newman delivered the walk-off two-run single. This was Diaz's first blown save since his season debut, but he's hardly been dominant lately, allowing seven runs with a 5:6 K:BB over his last 3.2 innings. The closer has a 6.75 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 16:12 K:BB while converting seven of nine save chances through 14.2 innings on the year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:41 pm
    • Alexis Díaz blows save, gets loss vs. Diamondbacks
Alexis Díaz blew a save while picking up a loss Monday by allowing two runs and getting just one out Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Díaz experience in 2024 has been interesting, to say the least, and probably is too kind of a description. The right-hander threw 9-of-21 pitches for strikes while issuing a pair of walks, and he gave up a two-run single to blow his second save and pick up his second loss. It seems likely that Díaz will remain the closer, but this does not look like the strong option that he was in 2023. Not yet, anyway. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:06 pm
    • Doubles, triples, drives in three
Rosario went 2-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBI and a run scored during Monday's win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario's two-out, two-run triple in the first put the Rays on the board while his run-scoring double in the eighth provided the Rays with their final margin of victory. Rosario has found a regular role as the top utility man for Tampa, batting .296 with a .312 on-base percentage, six doubles, three triples, two homers, 18 RBI, 12 runs and five stolen bases over 138 plate appearances. • Struggles in blown save
Diaz blew the save Monday against Philadelphia, allowing two runs on two hits, two walks and a hit batter. He had one strikeout over one inning.

Advice: Diaz looked extremely unsettled Monday night, issuing his first free passes since April 20, ending a streak of eight walk-free innings. Even more indicative of his unsteady control, the Mets closer allowed the tying run to score by beaning Alec Bohm with the bases loaded. Despite the ugly outing Monday, Diaz is cemented as the Mets closer with his ERA standing at 3.24 over 16.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:11 pm

    • Headed for MRI
Hoskins will undergo an MRI on his hamstring Tuesday morning, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Hoskins left Monday's series opener with a hamstring injury, but the severity of the issue remains unclear. Milwaukee should have a better idea of his availability going forward after reviewing Hoskins' test results. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:09 pm

    • Rhys Hoskins to undergo MRI on hamstring
Rhys Hoskins said a hamstring injury caused him to leave Monday’s game and that he’ll have an MRI on Tuesday morning.

Advice: Not good. One imagines the Brewers will bring Tyler Black back to the majors now. He was short-changed in his first opportunity, and he might well be a fine replacement for Hoskins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:09 pm

    • Edwin Díaz melts down Monday in ugly blown save
Edwin Díaz was charged with two runs in the ninth inning on Monday against the Phillies in a blown save.

Advice: Not great. Díaz was called upon to guard a two-run lead in the final frame and was unable to slam the door. He served up a solo shot to Bryson Stott to kick things off before drilling Alec Bohm with the bases loaded to push across the game-tying run with two outs in the frame. It was his second blown save in seven chances this season. There’s zero chance of Díaz losing his grip on the closing role in New York, but it’s worth noting that this outing was a real mess. • Exits with toe injury
Morel left Monday's game against Atlanta after fouling a ball off his left foot, and he's been diagnosed with a left toe injury, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Morel is reportedly dealing with bumps and bruises, per Lee, so this appears to be a day-to-day type of injury. The Cubs should know more about his availability for the rest of the week after re-evaluating him Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:25 pm

    • Christopher Morel exits with toe bruise
Christopher Morel exited Monday’s game because of a toe injury, the result of fouling a ball off his foot.

Advice: No word yet on whether he’ll be getting X-rays. Morel is also playing through some knee soreness in his other leg, so maybe he’ll DH if he plays Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:21 pm
