    • Homers, collects three hits
Mountcastle went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Mountcastle had gone just 1-for-12 over his last three games but collected three hits including his fourth homer. Mountcastle's performance lifted his average to .319 with four homers and 14 RBI. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

    • Jose Alvarado slams door on Padres in ninth inning
Jose Alvarado slammed the door on the Padres in the ninth inning on Sunday, retiring all three batters that he faced to protect a two-run advantage.

Advice: Alvarado came out guns blazing in this one, striking out Eguy Rosario and Luis Campusano before getting Jurickson Profar on a line drive to right field to end it. The 28-year-old left-hander has struggled a bit to start the season — sporting a 5.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 12/7 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings, but he has converted all five of his save chances and remains the Phillies’ go-to option in the ninth inning. • Logan Gilbert fans nine in no-decision on Sunday
Logan Gilbert pitched well in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon, racking up nine strikeouts across 6 1/3 innings of two-run baseball.

Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander scattered just four hits and one walk on the day. He served up a solo homer to Christian Walker in the second inning, then kept the Diamondbacks off the board until Eugenio Suarez chased him with a run-scoring double in the seventh inning. Gilbert got 16 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night, registering an elite CSW of 34 percent. He’ll try to get back in the win column as he carries a stellar 2.03 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 44/9 K/BB ratio (40 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Astros in Houston. • Escapes with save
Doval allowed a run on two hits and a walk in one inning of work Sunday. He did not record a strikeout but picked up a save against the Pirates.

Advice: Doval retired the first two batters he faced before letting three straight Pirates reach base. He forced Joey Bart into a game-ended groundout to finish off the 3-2 win. Doval has converted all five of his save chances while registering a 3.38 ERA through 10.2 frames. Sunday was his first save since April 23 against the Mets. Rotowire.com Today, 3:57 pm

    • Wyatt Langford’s first homer is inside-the-parker
Wyatt Langford made his first career homer an inside-the-parker Sunday in the Rangers’ 4-3 win over the Reds.

Advice: Langford’s shot to right-center would have been a traditional homer in six ballparks. In Texas, it bounced off a fortunately angled wall and shot far into right field, allowing Langford to score without a play. Langford is batting .248/.325/.327 with 11 RBI through 27 games. It’s not quite what people expected after his huge spring, but he also hasn’t seemed overmatched in the least. He’ll continue improving from here. Rotoworld Today, 3:42 pm

    • Jazz homers, drives in four in loss to Nationals
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 1-for-3 with a home run, two walks, and four RBI in a loss to the Nationals on Sunday.

Advice: Jazz clobbered a 395-foot grand slam off Patrick Corbin in the first inning at 102.7 mph. It was especially impressive coming off of a left-handed pitcher. While he didn’t get another hit on the day, he did work two walks, which is always nice to see from a young hitter who tends to be a free swinger. Chisholm Jr. is now hitting .245/.342/.382 on the season with three home runs and 15 RBI. Rotoworld Today, 2:36 pm

    • Secures first major-league homer
Langford went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Reds.

Advice: Langford entered Sunday homerless through his first 26 major-league contests, but that came to an end in quite the unique fashion. With one on and two out in the top of the first, the outfielder launched a high flyball to right center field, which ricocheted off the wall and rolled away from right fielder Jake Fraley, allowing Langford to round the bases for an inside-the-park home run. Langford, who picked up his first RBI since April 18, is now batting .248 with 11 RBI, 13 runs and a stolen base over 101 at-bats in 27 games this season. Rotowire.com Today, 2:33 pm

    • Mountcastle, has three hits, HR vs A’s
Ryan Mountcastle went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a loss to the A’s on Sunday.

Advice: The home run was a 424-foot shot off Paul Blackburn that left the bat at 108.7 mph. It was Mountcastle’s fourth home run on the season, and he’s now slashing .319/.379/.527 on the season with 14 RBI. He gets lost in the shuffle with the Orioles’ having truckloads of talented young prospects, but Mountcastle has been one of their better hitters to start the season and needs to be started in all leagues for now. • Giménez has two hits, steal vs ATL
Andrés Giménez went 2-for-4 with a steal and an RBI against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Advice: Both of Giménez’s hits with singles hit 91 mph or better off the bat and upped his slash line to .275/.345/.343 on the year. That slugging percentage obviously leaves a lot to be desired, but Giménez is getting on base often at the top of the Guardians’ lineup and now has four steals on the year. He also has some of the lowest exit velocities among every day players, so if you can stomach his lack of power, he’s a good MIF target in all fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Today, 2:01 pm
