    • Gelof (oblique) shut down from baseball activities
Zack Gelof (oblique) has been shut down from baseball activities.

Advice: That’s not good. Gelof was placed on the injured list with a left oblique strain Thursday, and it sounds like the 24-year-old won’t be ready to roll when he’s eligible to be activated in the early portion of May. Fantasy managers who are counting on Gelof should probably look elsewhere for a short-term — and potentially longer — replacement. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:25 pm

    • Jackson Merrill not in lineup Monday vs. Reds
Jackson Merrill is not in the starting lineup for Monday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Merrill returned to the lineup from his groin injury on Saturday and also played Sunday, so this appears to be a day of maintenance for the 21-year-old. Jose Azocar will play center and hit eighth Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:52 pm

    • Batting second Monday
Adell will start in right field and bat second in Monday's contest versus the Phillies.

Advice: It's Adell's seventh straight start in right field and the first time this season that he's batted higher than sixth. The 25-year-old is sporting a .327/.382/.592 batting line with three home runs and five stolen bases over his first 21 games this season and, perhaps most importantly, he's striking out at just a 23.6 percent clip. Adell came into this season with a career 35.4 percent strikeout rate at the major-league level. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:04 pm

    • Start pushed to Wednesday
After Monday's game against the Cardinals was postponed due to inclement weather, Maeda will start in Wednesday's contest, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: The Tigers will roll with Jack Flaherty in the first game Tuesday, while Matt Manning is pencilled in to start the second contest as the 27th man. Maeda holds an 0-1 record over five starts this season, posting a 5.96 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB over 22.2 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:53 pm

    • Cardinals-Tigers rained out Monday
Maeda and the Tigers won't play Monday against the Cardinals after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Detroit.

Advice: The game will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader Tuesday. Jack Flaherty will stay on turn to start the first game Tuesday and Matt Manning is expected to come up to start the second game. Maeda's next start is being pushed back to Wednesday. • Goes deep in loss
Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a double in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Cronenworth doubled his first time up and then would briefly put the Padres in front with a two-run shot to right off Taijuan Walker in the third. The 30-year-old has found his bat lately with seven hits and five RBI over his last five games. For the year, he's now slashing .264/.344/.453 with four homers, 19 RBI, 14 runs and a 12:19 BB:K in 122 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:35 am

    • Homers as pinch hitter
Campusano went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Campusano entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Kyle Higashioka in the seventh and instantly made an impact, swatting a three-run shot to left center off Taijuan Walker to bring the Padres within one run. It was only his second home run of the year, but the 25-year-old is enjoying a productive first month of the season, slashing .290/.320/.430 with nine extra-base hits, 17 RBI, 13 runs and a 4:11 BB:K in 97 plate appearances as the Padres primary backstop. • Little run support Sunday
Gilbert did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Diamondbacks. He allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out nine in 6.1 innings.

Advice: Gilbert allowed an early solo home run to Christian Walker in the second. He was then able to keep the Diamondbacks off the scoreboard until Eugenio Suarez doubled home another run in the seventh to even things up at 2-2, ultimately knocking Gilbert from the game and spoiling his chance at a win. Still, it was another excellent outing from the 27-year-old. His nine strikeouts were a season-high and he's managed to go at least six innings and all but one start so far. Gilbert now owns a sparkling 2.03 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 44:9 K:BB in 40 innings and lines up to face the Astros on the road next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:43 am
