      Advice: Winn surrendered a solo home run to Mickey Moniak in the second inning then allowed a game-tying two-run homer to Logan O'Hoppe in the sixth. While he stumbled late, Winn registered 17 swinging strikes on 91 pitches and logged his first quality start since May 28. On the season, Winn now owns a 6.66 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 46:19 K:BB in 11 starts and tentatively lines up to face the Cardinals next week. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago
       
    • Completes seven innings in loss
      Rogers (1-8) took the loss to the Nationals on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks with three strikeouts over seven innings.

      Advice: Rogers allowed runs on a sacrifice fly by Joey Meneses in the first inning and a solo homer run by Lane Thomas in the third. Rogers logged his best outing of the season but was simply outdueled by rookie DJ Herz, who posted six scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts. Rogers had walked four batters in back-to-back contests, so his command Saturday was certainly a positive. He now owns a 5.09 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 55:31 K:BB on the season and tentatively lines up to face the Mariners next week. Rotowire.com Today, 6:24 pm
       
    • José Quintana spins gem against Padres
      José Quintana allowed one run on two hits in six innings in a win over the Padres on Saturday.

      Advice: Both of Quintana’s hits allowed were for extra bases, but he was able to avoid damage apart from the solo home run to Jackson Merrill. The left-hander induced eight whiffs on 31 swings for a 26 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW. The Padres only had an average exit velocity on contact of 85 mph, as Quintana kept them off the barrel all day. He now has a 4.98 ERA and is not a recommended start next week against the Cubs.     • Nabs win as bulk reliever
      Francis (3-2) picked up the win Saturday, allowing four hits over four scoreless relief innings in a 5-0 victory over the Guardians. He struck out two without walking a batter.

      Advice: The right-hander was the fourth Toronto pitcher into the game but he handled the bulk relief role with aplomb, firing 44 of 68 pitches for strikes. Francis has tossed eight scoreless innings over his last two appearances, but with Yariel Rodriguez (back) close to coming off the IL, he's unlikely to join the rotation any time soon. Since a tough beginning to the season as a starter, Francis has posted a 3.06 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB through 17.2 innings over his last six outings sandwiched around an IL stint of his own due to forearm tendinitis.     • Mazur can’t escape 4th in loss to Mets
      Adam Mazur allowed two runs on three hits in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Mets on Saturday.

      Advice: Mazur struck out four but walked six on the day. The 23-year-old had just a 43 percent zone rate overall while posting a 23 percent CSW. He’s now walked 13 batters in 12 2/3 innings to start his MLB career which is not exactly ideal. He now has a 7.82 ERA and is no guarantee to make his next start with Yu Darvish close to being activated. Rotoworld Today, 6:10 pm
       
    • Stuck with loss Saturday
      Carrasco (2-6) took the loss Saturday as the Guardians fell 5-0 to the Blue Jays, coughing up five runs on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out two.

      Advice: The veteran righty didn't give up a lot of hard contact, as the only extra-base hit off him was a second-inning double by Daulton Varsho, but Carrasco still got tagged for at least five runs for the fourth time in his last eight starts. With Gavin Williams (elbow) likely to be back before the end of the month, Carrasco's time in the rotation could be growing short, but he'll get at least one more turn. He'll take a 5.80 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 44:21 K:BB through 59 innings into his next outing, which lines up for a rematch with the Jays next weekend back in Cleveland. Rotowire.com Today, 6:06 pm
       
    • Early exit in Saturday's loss
      Pallante (2-3) took the loss Saturday, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits over 3.1 innings as the Cardinals were downed 5-1 by the Cubs. He struck out four without walking a batter.

      Advice: The right-hander didn't pitch badly, blanking Chicago through three innings, but Pallante got lifted after 59 pitches (40 strikes) with two runners on base in the fourth and had to watch Chris Roycroft let them both come around to score. Pallante has been effective in three of four outings since moving into the rotation, posting a 3.64 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB through 17.1 innings over that stretch.       Clevinger (elbow) is expected to make two starts at Triple-A Charlotte before returning to the White Sox during a seven-game homestand that begins June 24, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Clevinger is lined up for starts with Charlotte on Tuesday and June 23 and is expected to join the White Sox in the days after his June 23 outing. The 33-year-old was placed on the IL with right elbow inflammation May 28 but has been facing batters since June 7.       Yankees manager Aaron Boone stated early this week that Brubaker (elbow) is "getting ready to go out on an assignment," per MLB.com.

      Advice: Brubaker is over 14 months removed from Tommy John surgery and has been throwing to live hitters for about five weeks. The 30-year-old hasn't pitched in a game since the 2022 season, so he'll presumably need a rehab assignment consisting of several starts. Brubaker could be ready to join the big-league club around the All-Star break, but given the success of the team's starting staff thus far and the impending return of Gerrit Cole (elbow), there doesn't appear to be room in the rotation for Brubaker at the moment.
