    • Tallies first save
Schreiber picked up the save Friday against the Angels. He pitched a shutout inning, allowing one hit with no strikeouts.

Advice: Schreiber collected his first save season and tenth of his career Friday night. He looked steady, allowing a one-out double to Matt Thaiss before swiftly retiring the next two batters on grounders. James McArthur, the typical Royals closer, worked back-to-back nights on Tuesday and Wednesday, so manager Matt Quatraro could have been given him extra rest Friday night. However, McArthur also blew two saves this week, so keep an eye on the bullpen situation in Kansas City to see if Schreiber picks up more save opportunities. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago
    • Fans seven in no-decision
Marsh did not factor into the decision Friday against the Angels, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Marsh (elbow) looked sharp in his return from the injured list Friday night, tossing a formidable 85 pitches. The Kansas City right-hander lowered his ERA to 2.53 overall with his effort against the Angels. He also stayed hot after throwing 10 shutout innings in his two starts before the injured list stint. Marsh is scheduled to make his next start against the Mariners on the road. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

    • Kevin Herget picks up second career save
Kevin Herget recorded his second career save by allowing two runs over the final three innings Friday in the Brewers’ rout of the Cardinals.

Advice: Herget also had a three-inning save for the Reds last year. The 33-year-old was making his second appearance for the Brewers after being called up Monday. He’s made a total of 19 relief appearances in the majors since debuting with the Rays in 2021. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Collects second save
Beeks picked up the save Friday against Texas. He pitched a clean inning without a strikeout.

Advice: Beeks only required nine total pitches to retire the bottom of the Rangers order for his second save. Justin Lawrence, the typical Rockies closer, was used in a high-leverage seventh inning against the top of the order, opening the save opportunity for Beeks. However, the left-handed Beeks may be the second choice for saves in Colorado as he's been dependable, tossing a 2.45 ERA with 14:8 K:BB over 18.1 innings. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

    • John Schreiber locks down save against Angels
John Schreiber worked a scoreless ninth to pick up a save Friday against the Angels.

Advice: Schreiber has his first save of the season, first as a member of the Royals and just the ninth of his MLB career. The right-hander has been outstanding in 2024, however, with an ERA now of 0.98 as evidence. There absolutely could be more save chances for Schreiber as the season progresses, but it’s far from a guarantee. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago
    • Alec Marsh holds Angels to one run with seven Ks
Alec Marsh struck out seven while allowing just one run over 5 1/3 innings against the Angels on Friday while not factoring in the decision.

Advice: Marsh’s only run allowed came on a Jo Adell solo blast in the fifth. Unfortunately, that was the only run scored while either he or Griffin Canning was in the game, so no win for the 25-year-old in his return from the injured list. This was far from the toughest lineup that Marsh will face, but he did look solid while pitching into the sixth inning and throwing 85 pitches. He’ll get back on the mound in Seattle against the Mariners on Wednesday. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

    • Notches second save
Leasure threw 1.1 shutout innings and earned a save against Cleveland on Friday.

Advice: Leasure fired 12 of 16 pitches for strikes to quickly finish off the 6-3 victory. He's converted two of his three save chances this season, with both conversions coming in his last six appearances. Leasure lowered his ERA to 2.20 with an 11:6 K:BB through 16.1 innings. Michael Kopech was seemingly unavailable after pitching Wednesday and Thursday. Rotowire.com Today, 8:43 pm
    • Jalen Beeks picks up second save of season
Jalen Beeks hurled a scoreless ninth to procure a save Friday against the Rangers.

Advice: It’s the second save of the season for Beeks, and the seventh of his MLB career. The scoreless inning also lowered his ERA to 2.45, and with Justin Lawrence struggling — Lawrence came in to pitch the seventh and walked in the tying run — he could see more chances over the summer months. This would be a very risky/desperate pickup for those who are in dire need of save chances. Rotoworld Today, 8:05 pm

    • Griffin Jax earns fifth save for Twins
Griffin Jax recorded his fifth save despite giving up a run in the ninth to the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: The Twins again opted to give Jhoan Duran what looked like the tougher assignment in the eighth. Jax came in with a two-run lead in the ninth and allowed a walk and two singles before finishing off the Blue Jays. He’s going to retain some value in deeper mixed leagues if the Twins keep using Duran like this. Rotoworld Today, 6:58 pm
