    • Doubles in rehab debut
Canzone (shoulder) started in left field and played five innings during Triple-A Tacoma's loss to Reno on Saturday, going 1-for-3 with a double.

Advice: Canzone's rehab debut appears to have been a success within its preset parameters, with the 26-year-old logging his first game action since April 14. Canzone is projected for three more games with the Rainiers before activation is considered, and it remains to be seen if he'll be back in Tacoma's lineup Sunday. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago

    • Goes deep in win
Goodman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Goodman has just two hits over seven major-league games this season, but both of them have been homers. He's added a 2:8 BB:K, four RBI and two runs scored through 21 plate appearances this season. Goodman is serving as a bench bat during this stint in the majors, mostly as a backup first baseman behind Elehuris Montero. Rotowire.com 58 minutes ago

    • Racks up three hits
Nootbaar went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Nootbaar was one of five Cardinals with multiple hits in the contest, but it still wasn't enough to break the team out of its skid. The outfielder has gone 8-for-35 (.229) in May, adding four RBI and three extra-base hits in that span. He's still struggling overall with a .198/.294/.354 slash line through 110 plate appearances. Nootbaar has added three home runs, two stolen bases, 11 RBI and eight runs scored, and he appears to have a near-everyday role in the outfield since most of the rest of the Cardinals aren't hitting much better than he is. • Goes deep twice in victory
Carpenter went 2-for-5 with two homers and three total RBI against Houston in an 8-2 win Saturday.

Advice: Carpenter capped a seven-run second inning for Detroit with a two-run shot to right field and added a solo homer in the fourth. The pair of long balls snapped an 18-game homerless stretch for the outfielder, who belted 20 home runs in his first full MLB season last year. Saturday's multi-homer game was the third of Carpenter's career. Rotowire.com Today, 8:24 pm

    • Records fourth steal
Bauers went 1-for-2 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Bauers got plunked by St. Louis starter Kyle Gibson in the third inning to force in the first run of the game. After losing playing time to Tyler Black earlier in the month, Bauers has gotten in the lineup for four straight games, going 4-for-10 with three walks, two steals, four RBI and three runs in that span. The 28-year-old is likely to remain in a strong-side platoon role with most of his playing time coming in the corner outfield. He's up to a .231/.318/.436 slash line through 88 plate appearances on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:21 pm

    • Belts grand slam in victory
Canha went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and two walks Saturday in an 8-2 victory versus the Astros.

Advice: Canha set the tone early for the Tigers with a second-inning grand slam off Houston starter Cristian Javier. It was a much-needed big hit for the veteran slugger, who had gone 2-for-24 without an RBI while striking out nine times over his previous six games. The grand slam was the third of Canha's career. • Could replace Conforto on roster
Matos was pulled from a game at Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday in case he's needed to replace Michael Conforto (hamstring) on the Giants' roster, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Conforto is dealing with a right hamstring strain and is set to undergo an MRI on Sunday to determine the extent of the injury. Matos has spent virtually the entire season with Sacramento and has struggled, having come into play Saturday slashing .221/.312/.361 with three home runs and three steals. He and Heliot Ramos could be the top options in left field for San Francisco if Conforto misses time. Rotowire.com Today, 8:01 pm

    • Three hits, steal in loss
Fraley went 3-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Fraley was the only Cincinnati hitter with multiple hits in the contest. He had gone 14 games without a multi-hit effort, batting a paltry .132 (5-for-38) in that span. That stretch put a significant damper on the outfielder's solid start to the year, but he's still slashing .304/.368/.392 with six steals, one home run, five RBI and 16 runs scored over 87 plate appearances. Fraley sat out a couple of games versus right-handed pitchers early in May, but it appears that was temporary as he has resumed a strong-side platoon role between right field and designated hitter. • Kerry Carpenter homers twice as Tigers rout Astros
Kerry Carpenter blasted a pair of home runs on Saturday as the Tigers routed the Astros 8-2 at Comerica Park.

Advice: Carpenter put the exclamation point on a seven-run second inning with a 350-foot (106.5 mph EV) two-run blast that chased Astros’ starter Cristian Javier. He also added a 384-foot (102.6 mph EV) solo shot off of Hunter Brown in the fourth inning that extended the Tigers’ lead to 8-2. It’s the third multi-homer game of Carpenter’s young career. The 26-year-old slugger finished the evening 2-for-5 is now hitting .275/.333/.523 with five homers and 18 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 5:53 pm
