    • Luis Matos collects two hits, homers vs. Cubs
Luis Matos went 2-for-3 with a solo homer in the Giants’ 4-3 win against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Matos was recalled after Mike Yastrzemski hit the injured list last week. He’s collected at least one hit in all four starts, including a solo homer in the fifth inning off of Drew Smyly on Wednesday. The 22-year-old outfielder is slashing .253/.272/.374 with three homers and 21 RBI across 103 plate appearances. Given his bat-to-ball skills and improved hard-hit rate, he should get a chance to continue improving on his .253 BABIP and could be relevant in five-outfielder leagues. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago

    • Michael Conforto blasts two-run homer in win
Michael Conforto went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: With a runner on base in the second inning, Conforto took Hayden Wesneski deep to right center field for a two-run shot to put the Giants on the board. It was Conforto’s ninth homer of the season and only his second in June. The 31-year-old outfielder is slashing .232/.286/.415 with 23 runs scored and 29 RBI across 224 plate appearances. • David Villar launches first homer vs. Cubs
David Villar went 1-for-3 with a solo homer against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Villar got a chance with the big league club after slugging 12 homers across 58 Triple-A games. He took Hayden Wesneski deep for a solo homer in the second inning for his first homer of the season. The 27-year-old first baseman will likely see sporadic playing time with too much of a volatile profile to garner any mixed-league relevance. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

    • Racks up two homers, six RBI
Higashioka went 3-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI in Wednesday's 8-5 win against the Nationals.

Advice: Higashioka drove in all but two of San Diego's eight runs. He swatted a two-run homer to kick off the scoring in the second inning and capped his offensive outburst with a grand slam in the eighth. The grand slam was the first of Higashioka's career, while the multi-homer effort was his fifth as a big-leaguer. He's hitting only .207 on the season but has otherwise provided good production with eight homers and 20 RBI in 32 games. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • X-rays on heel negative
X-rays on Sheets' left heel came back negative after he was removed early from Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Advice: The White Sox are now labeling Sheets' injury as a bruise, and he's considered day-to-day. It's possible the team holds him out for a game or two as a precaution, but he shouldn't be in line for an extended absence. Rotowire.com Today, 7:48 pm

    • Gavin Sheets (heel) considered day-to-day
Gavin Sheets is considered day-to-day after X-rays on his injured heel came back negative on Friday.

Advice: Sheets was pulled from Wednesday night’s battle against the Dodgers after jamming his left heel while rounding second base after his double. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the White Sox give him a day off on Thursday, but don’t expect the 28-year-old slugger to require any sort of extended absence. Rotoworld Today, 7:41 pm

    • Managing injured heel
Sheets was removed from Wednesday's game against the Dodgers due to a jammed left heel.

Advice: The severity of Sheets' injury remains unknown, but he is being further evaluated, and the White Sox should offer an update on his status in the near future. The 28-year-old has been heating up at the plate recently, going 8-for-22 in his last six games heading into Wednesday's contest. Rotowire.com Today, 6:47 pm

    • Gavin Sheets leaves game with jammed left heel
Gavin Sheets was removed from Wednesday’s ballgame against the Dodgers due to a jammed left heel.

Advice: The severity of the injury — as well as how much time (if any) Sheets may miss — are not yet known. He’ll head for further evaluation and the White Sox should have an update on his status at some point before Thursday’s battle against the Braves. Rotoworld Today, 6:36 pm

    • Drives in two in Wednesday's win
Fermin went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: The Royals' offense was stuck in neutral until the eighth inning, but Fermin capped a five-run outburst with a two-run single. The 29-year-old had been on the bench the prior three games with Michael Massey serving as the DH in his return from a lower-back strain, which kept Salvador Perez behind the plate, but playing time should open up for Fermin again once Massey is ready to resume defensive duties at second base. On the season, Fermin is slashing .294/.340/.434 with four homers, 18 RBI and 21 runs in 48 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 4:03 pm
