    • Day off Wednesday
McCarthy isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: McCarthy will sit down for Wednesday's series finale after going 3-for-8 with a solo homer during the first two games of the series. Randal Grichuk will take over in right field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:40 pm
    • Targeting mid-June return
Mitchell (finger) is aiming to return from the injured list ahead of the Brewers' series against the Angels on June 17, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Mitchell is slated to begin hitting off a tee this weekend while the Brewers are in Boston. After that, he will head to the team's complex in Arizona to continue rehabbing and take at-bats in ACL games before officially beginning a rehab assignment with one of Milwaukee's minor-league affiliates. The 25-year-old outfielder has been on the IL all season due to a fractured finger on his left hand and will have to compete for playing time in a crowded Brewers outfield once he returns. • Sitting versus southpaw
Brown is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Brown hasn't started against a left-handed pitcher all season, and that trend will continue Wednesday as Austin Gomber takes the mound for Colorado. Tyler Nevin will take over in right field and bat seventh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:46 pm

    • Sitting against southpaw
Kelenic is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: The left-handed-hitting Kelenic will take a seat Wednesday while southpaw Justin Steele takes the hill for Chicago. Platoon mate Adam Duvall will fill in for Kelenic in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:39 pm
    • Homer, double in win
Kepler went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo homer and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Kepler led off the second inning with a solo shot off Jake Irvin, giving the Twins an early lead, before adding a double in the ninth and scoring what turned out to be a crucial insurance run on a Ryan Jeffers base hit. Kepler had cooled off a bit after a fast start to the year -- he came into Wednesday stuck in a 3-for-16 slump. The 31-year-old outfielder is still slashing an impressive .311/.368/.544 with four homers, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored across 115 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:28 pm
    • Homer, stolen base in loss
Bader went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Bader extended the Mets lead to 3-0 in the fourth inning with a solo shot off Triston McKenzie, his second long ball of the year and first since April 17. Bader's been swinging the bat well, going 10-for-30 with six RBI in his last eight games. He's slashing .281/.324/.360 with 17 runs scored, 13 RBI and seven stolen bases across 42 games as the Mets' primary center-fielder this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:14 pm
    • Hitting bench versus lefty
Canzone is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: After returning last Wednesday following a month-long stay on the injured list, Canzone had started in all but one of the Mariners' ensuing six games, going 3-for-14 with a pair of extra-base hits and two walks. While the lefty-hitting Canzone will hit the bench against Yankees southpaw Nestor Cortes, look for manager Scott Servais to open up playing time for both Canzone and fellow left-handed hitter Luke Raley at the corner-outfield spots when the Mariners face right-handed pitching. Rather than Raley, Mitch Garver and Mitch Haniger have been losing out on more opportunities against right-handed pitching since Canzone's return from the IL. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:10 pm
    • Max Kepler homers, doubles to lead Twins
Max Kepler homered and doubled Wednesday as the Twins edged the Nationals 3-2.

Advice: After a 12-3 Nationals win and a 10-0 Twins rout, the two teams actually managed to play a close one in the finale. Kepler homered in the second and doubled and came around to score in the ninth. He’s hit .345/.410/.618 in 17 games this month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:36 pm
    • Added to big-league roster
The Padres selected Peralta's contract from Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday. He'll start in left field and will bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Peralta just signed a minor-league deal over the weekend but will be summoned to the big leagues in short order to replace the injured Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) on the 26-man active roster. The 36-year-old is starting in left field Wednesday in Cincinnati and could wind up getting steady playing time there and/or at designated hitter versus right-handed pitching while he's up with the Padres. Peralta hit just .259/.294/.381 across 422 plate appearances with the Dodgers last season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:36 pm
