    • Adam Duvall goes yard in win over Cubs
Adam Duvall went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Duvall put the Braves on the board with a two-run blast off Justin Steele in the third inning. He was later hit by a pitch in the seventh and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ozzie Albies. The 35-year-old outfielder has generally been limited to starts against left-handed pitching. He’s slashing .208/.310/.361 with three homers and 10 RBI across 84 plate appearances. • LaMonte Wade Jr. reaches six times in victory
LaMonte Wade Jr. had an impressive night at the dish in Wednesday’s victory over the Pirates, going 3-for-3 with three singles, three walks, a pair of runs scored and an RBI.

Advice: The 30-year-old outfielder led off the sixth inning with a single and rode home on Matt Chapman’s two-run blast. He then delivered the biggest hit of the game, smacking a game-tying two-out RBI single off of Colin Holderman in the ninth inning. With his three-hit attack, Wade is now hitting .336/.484/.431 with a pair of homers, 16 RBI and a stolen base. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:06 pm
    • Ramping up in Dominican Republic
Marte (suspension) recently reported to the Reds' facility in the Dominican Republic to continue participating in exhibition games before the start of the Dominican Summer League, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Marte is continuing to serve the 80-game suspension he was handed down in March for violating MLB's joint drug prevention and treatment program, but he's been able to stay in playing shape of late by appearing in extended spring training games in Arizona and now in the Dominican Republic. According to team president Nick Krall, the Reds plan to have Marte participate in games in the Dominican Republic for about a week to 10 days before he returns to the United States to begin an official rehab assignment in the minors. Marte, who hit .316 with three home runs and six stolen bases in 35 games for the Reds in 2023 following his late-season promotion to the big leagues, is eligible to make his 2024 debut for the big club June 27 in St. Louis. • David Peralta collects RBI in Padres’ debut
David Peralta went 0-for-2 and drove in a run in a victory over the Reds in his Padres’ debut on Wednesday night.

Advice: Peralta plated Jurickson Profar with a fielder’s choice in the fourth inning, giving the Padres a 2-1 lead that they would never relinquish. Expect the 36-year-old outfielder to see fairly regular action against right-handed pitching during his time with the big league club. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:54 pm
    • Launches first career homer
Paris went 1-for-2 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Astros.

Advice: The 22-year-old gave the Angels all the offense they would need on the afternoon when he took Hunter Brown deep in the fifth inning. It was Paris' first career big-league homer in his 26th game, and while power isn't a big part of his game, he did slug 14 home runs in 113 contests for Double-A Rocket City in 2023. Paris got the start at second base Wednesday but slid over to shortstop, and he could be looking at a longer run at the latter position if Zach Neto (elbow) winds up missing significant time. • Set for tests on elbow
Neto will undergo further testing on his right elbow in Los Angeles after exiting in the bottom of the fifth inning of Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Astros, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Neto went 0-for-2 with a strikeout before he was lifted in the bottom of the fifth inning shortly after he made a high throw from shortstop. The Angels labeled his injury as right elbow soreness, but more clarity on the severity of the injury should be known once his tests are completed. For what it's worth, Neto said the Angels' training staff told him that his injury doesn't appear to be serious. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:53 pm

    • Hitting bench Wednesday
Cave is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Though he'll hit the bench Wednesday against right-hander Mitch Spence, the lefty-hitting Cave could still be included in the lineup versus righties more often than not, at least until Nolan Jones (back) returns from the injured list. Cave looked to be at risk of losing out on playing time when Kris Bryant was activated Tuesday, but Cave started in right field in the Rockies' series-opening loss and went 1-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to seven games. Rather than Cave, Elehuris Montero has been the main loser thus far since Bryant's return, as Montero has sat out twice in a row. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:00 pm

    • Sitting in second straight
Montero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Kris Bryant will make a second straight start at first base since his return from the injured list Tuesday, with Montero hitting the bench for both contests. The 25-year-old could still see regular playing time against left-handed pitching, but Montero looks like he'll be the odd man out of the lineup versus righties for now. Despite seeing everyday playing time for most of the season, Montero has disappointed with an underwhelming .582 OPS through 153 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:57 pm
    • Kyren Paris hits first major league home run
Kyren Paris hit his first major league homer Wednesday off the Astros’ Hunter Brown.

Advice: Before his 408-foot shot today, Paris had been just 7-for-67 with one extra-base hit since debuting late last season. He’s in the majors now despite having opened this year 7-for-77 with no homers and 36 strikeouts in Double-A. There’s some hope here for the future, but he will return to the minors once the Angels get healthier. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:23 pm
