    • Receives first major-league call-up
The Guardians recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Columbus on Monday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: He's taking the roster spot vacated by Ramon Laureano, who was designated for assignment. Rodriguez, 24, has slashed .276/.389/.449 with seven home runs and four stolen bases this season with Columbus. The Guardians have been desperate for production from any outfielder not named Steven Kwan this season, and Kwan is currently out with a hamstring injury, so it's possible Rodriguez will get a long look. He will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:17 am
    • Has ankle injury
Steer is dealing with a sore ankle, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Steer was held out of the starting lineup Sunday as a result of the ankle but served as a pinch hitter. He walked for Will Benson with the bases loaded in the seventh inning and was removed for a pinch runner. Cincinnati manager David Bell said Steer should be back to 100 percent for Tuesday's series opener at home against the Padres. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:11 am

    • Goes deep in loss
Nootbaar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 11-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Nootbaar is up to five homers on the year, four of which have come in his last 11 games. In that span, he's gone 12-for-39 (.308) with 10 RBI and a 10:8 BB:K. The outfielder had a slow start to the year after missing the first two weeks with broken ribs. Nootbaar is still slashing a middling .218/.331/.403 on the season, but he's trending in the right direction. He's added 17 RBI, 13 runs scored, two stolen bases and seven doubles over 33 contests while filling a near-everyday role in the Cardinals' outfield. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:17 pm
    • Taking seat Sunday
Steer is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Steer is mired in an 0-for-16 slump and will head to the bench Sunday. Will Benson will shift to left field for the series finale in Los Angeles while Stuart Fairchild and Jake Fraley start in center and right, respectively. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:46 am

    • Sitting Sunday
Doyle is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazettereports.

Advice: Doyle has a .962 OPS in his past 10 games but will take a seat Sunday after making 23 straight starts. Jordan Beck will man center field and bat seventh in the series finale at San Francisco. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:42 am

    • Spencer Steer out of lineup Sunday vs. Dodgers
Spencer Steer is not in the lineup for Sunday’s tilt against the Dodgers.

Advice: Steer has struggled mightily as of late, and the 26-year-old will get a day to think about things against Landon Knack and the Dodgers. Santiago Espinal is starting at third base with Jeimer Candelario moving across the diamond to first. Rotoworld Sunday, 10:29 am

    • Spencer Steer goes 0-for-3 in loss to Dodgers
Spencer Steer went 0-for-3 with a strikeout on Saturday in the Reds’ shutout loss at the hands of the Dodgers.

Advice: It’s probably too early to panic, but Steer is batting just .165 (18-for-109) with one homer and eight steals over his last 30 games. The 26-year-old’s plate skills remain solid and his underlying Statcast batted ball metrics point to some regression on the way. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:48 am

    • Stays hot with six-RBI day
Matos went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBI in Saturday's 14-4 victory over the Rockies.

Advice: Matos drove in a career-high five runs in Friday's series opener and then one-upped himself Saturday. He got the scoring going in this one with a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. The youngster then followed that with an RBI double in his next trip to the dish before capping off his night with a two-RBI single. Matos is just the fourth Giants player ever to notch consecutive five-RBI games, and he has tallied a whopping 17 RBI in seven contests since being recalled. While he had just a .661 OPS with the Giants last season and a .663 OPS this year at Triple-A Sacramento, Matos is a former top prospect who just turned 22 in January. At the very least, he's become a player who needs to be rostered in five-outfielder leagues. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:03 pm

    • Luis Matos drives in six runs against Rockies
Luis Matos went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBI to power the Giants to a 14-4 win over the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Matos continued his RBI barrage on Saturday, blasting a three-run homer off Ty Blach in the first inning. He doubled in the third to drive in a run and added two more RBI in the eighth to make it six on the day and 11 over his last two games. The 22-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a hot start at the plate with the Giants, going 10-for-26 with two homers and 17 RBI. With Jung Hoo Lee (shoulder) out for the season, Matos should be a regular in the lineup and brings intriguing power and speed, hitting three homers with three steals across 31 games in Triple-A before his call-up.
