    • Recalled from Triple-A
The Diamondbacks recalled Jacques from Triple-A Reno on Thursday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 in Houston reports.

Advice: Jacques was claimed off waivers from the Red Sox in late April and has spent most of the season at the Triple-A level, allowing 14 runs over 10.1 innings. The left-handed reliever holds a career 5.08 ERA and 22:10 K:BB across 28.1 innings during his time in the majors. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago
    • Getting second start
Woodford is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Red Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Advice: The White Sox called Woodford up from Triple-A Charlotte last week to fill the opening in the rotation that was created by Mike Clevinger's (elbow) placement on the 15-day injured list. Woodford's White Sox debut wasn't a memorable one -- he gave up three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings in a May 28 loss to the Blue Jays -- but he'll get at least one more turn through the rotation while the team waits on Clevinger's return. • Expects to make next start
Arrighetti (calf) said after Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Cardinals that he expects to make his next turn through the rotation, which is expected to fall Monday in San Francisco, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports. "It's not bad," Arrighetti said of his injury. "I think I'll be just fine."

Advice: Arrighetti was lifted from his start Tuesday after just three innings with a left calf contusion, though he actually suffered the injury in question during the second inning, when he was struck by a 103.8-mile-per-hour line drive off the bat of Ivan Herrera. Fortunately for both Arrighetti and the Astros, he looks to have avoided any major injury, though manager Joe Espada suggested that a decision on whether the rookie right-hander makes his next turn will hinge on him being able to finish his delivery when he pitches, as he uses his left leg as his plant leg. • Claimed by D-backs
The Diamondbacks claimed Vieira off waivers from the Orioles on Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Vieira made just one appearance with the O's before being DFA'd, allowing three earned runs on one hit and four walks while failing to record an out. He'll now join his third organization of the year but will almost certainly be limited to low-leverage situations out of Arizona's bullpen. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago
    • Bumped up to Triple-A
The Red Sox promoted Yorke from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.

Advice: The 22-year-old made his Worcester debut in Wednesday's 9-6 loss to Rochester, starting at second base while going 1-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base. Yorke received the call-up to Worcester despite turning in a pedestrian .251/.325/.366 slash line over his 197 plate appearances with Portland on the season. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

    • Victor Robles is starting in Mariners debut
Victor Robles is starting for the Mariners in left field on Thursday and batting eighth.

Advice: Robles was signed on Monday and will immediately get a chance to prove himself to his new club. The 27-year-old had just 33 plate appearances for the Nationals this season, slashing .120/.281/.120 with two RBI, four stolen bases, and a 9/5 K/BB ratio and posted a .222/.301/.308 triple-slash line with 11 homers and 39 steals in 1,124 plate appearances over 341 games since the outset of the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. Still, he had been one of the top prospects in baseball prior to his MLB debut and there is likely still some talent in there that perhaps the Mariners can get out of him. He shouldn’t be added in fantasy leagues yet, but his progress should be monitored. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

    • Emilio Pagán activated off the IL
Reds activated Emilio Pagán (triceps) from the 15-day IL.

Advice: Pagán landed on the injured list on May 23rd but has been solid for the Reds this season with a 4.19 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 19 1/3 innings while striking out 25 and walking seven batters. The 33-year-old could work himself back into high-leverage opportunities if he pitches well. Graham Ashcraft was sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago
    • Reds send Graham Ashcraft to Triple-A
Reds optioned RHP Graham Ashcarft to Triple-A Louisville.

Advice: Despite ranking high on Stuff+ leaderboards, it has simply never happened for Ashcraft. He has a 5.05 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 62 1/3 innings this season and a career 4.86 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 313 innings. He has a great slider, but the rest of his pitch mix seems to lag behind and the efforts to correct some of his issues against right-handed hitters have fallen short. He’ll try to work things out in the minors but unless he changes his pitch mix, it’s hard to see it happening. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

    • Exits starting nine
Joe is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Dodgers.

Advice: It's the first time since May 13 that Joe has been absent from the Pirates' starting nine. Rowdy Tellez will occupy first base and Edward Olivares will patrol right field while Joe gets some rest. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago
