    • Sharp in first win
Woo (1-0) picked up the win in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Royals, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander pounded the zone, firing 60 of his 79 pitches for strikes, but after five scoreless innings Woo ran out of gas in the sixth and left the mound with runners on the corners and one out, clinging to a 2-1 lead. Gabe Speier was able to escape the jam however, and the Seattle bullpen took care of the rest. Woo has been very impressive in two starts since making his belated season debut, giving up just one run in 9.2 innings with an 8:2 K:BB, but he faces a tough test in his next outing -- a road start in Yankee Stadium early next week. • Jeremy Peña collects two hits in win over Athletics
Jeremy Peña went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 3-0 win over the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Peña led off the fourth inning with a base hit and scored on a sacrifice fly by Mauricio Dubón. He later started the sixth inning with a single, but was stranded on the bases. The multi-hit day brings Peña slash line to an impressive .333/.375/.455 with four homers, 26 runs scored, 16 RBI, and six steals across 176 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:23 pm
    • Blanks Nats for fourth win
Crochet (4-4) picked up the win in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over the Nationals, giving up three hits and three walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The left-hander wasn't exactly efficient, tossing only 56 of 89 pitches for strikes, but Crochet lasted long enough to qualify for the win. After a rough stretch in April, the 24-year-old has allowed only three runs over his last three starts (1.59 ERA) with a stellar 24:1 K:BB in 17 innings. Crochet will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Toronto. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:03 pm

    • Bryan Woo fans five in victory over Royals
Bryan Woo was terrific in Wednesday’s victory over the Royals, striking out five batters over 5 1/3 innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: The 24-year-old right-hander scattered just three hits and one walk on the afternoon. The lone tally against him came on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Bobby Witt Jr. in the sixth inning. Woo generated 13 swings and misses on 79 pitches on the afternoon — eight of those on his heater which averaged 95.1 mph — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. He’ll look to build upon this strong performance when he toes the slab against the Yankees in New York on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:50 pm

    • Jurickson Profar swipes base in loss on Wednesday
Jurickson Profar singled and stole a base on Wednesday afternoon as the Padres were shut out by the Rockies.

Advice: Profar smacked a leadoff single off of Austin Gomber in the fourth inning and swiped second base, but the Padres couldn’t cash him in from there. He finished the afternoon 1-for-4 with a strikeout. On the season, he’s still slashing a robust .322/.412/.513 with seven homers, 29 RBI and three stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:52 pm

    • Falls to Miami
Mize (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Jazz Chisholm led off the game with a base hit before Bryan De La Cruz smacked a two-run homer off Mize. The right-hander would proceed to blank the Marlins over his subsequent five innings, allowing just one additional hit, though the Tigers' offense couldn't provide any support in an eventual 2-0 defeat. It's the fourth quality start of the season for Mize, who's allowed just three runs on seven hits over 12 innings in his last two outings. He sports a 3.50 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB across eight starts (43.2 innings) this year. Mize is currently in line for a road matchup with the Royals in his next outing. • Optimistic for minimum IL stay
Lodolo, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left groin strain, is hopeful that he'll require only a minimum-length stay on the shelf, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The southpaw revealed that he pitched with the injury during his most recent start Saturday in San Francisco, but he was hoping to make enough progress to take his next turn during the Reds' four-game series in Los Angeles. That ultimately didn't come to pass, and the decision was made to put him on the IL. If Lodolo is able to return in the minimum 15 days, he could return to the Cincinnati rotation as soon as May 27 versus the Cardinals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:04 pm

    • Garrett Crochet keeps rolling in win over Nats
Garrett Crochet recorded six strikeouts over five shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Nationals.

Advice: Crochet turned in his fourth consecutive strong performance during Wednesday’s afternoon matinee at Guaranteed Rate Field, limiting Washington’s lineup to just three hits and three walks over five shutout frames. The 24-year-old southpaw’s average fastball velocity remained in the mid-to-upper 90’s as he generated 11 swinging strikes and finished with a pedestrian 27 percent CSW. He wasn’t completely dominant in this one, but it was another encouraging outing after a couple rough starts at the tail-end of April. How he holds up with a traditional starter’s workload will be the central question as the season progresses, but obviously there’s a lot to like about his performance so far. He’ll bring a solid 4.18 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 70/12 K/BB ratio across 51 1/3 innings (10 starts) into a road matchup on Tuesday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:40 pm

    • Austin Riley (side) still out of action Wednesday
Austin Riley (side) remains out of the Braves’ starting lineup for Wednesday nights matchup against the CUbs.

Advice: It’ll be the third straight game that the 27-year-old slugger has missed since leaving Sunday’s contest with inflammation in his left side. Once again, Zack Short will draw a start at third base and will bat ninth against right-hander Javier Assad and the Cubs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:15 pm
