    • Halts skid
Gurriel went 1-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 8-4 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Gurriel doubled in the fifth inning to snap an 0-for-15 slide and eventually came around to score on a wild pitch. The outfielder is slashing .265/.312/.444 with five home runs and a team-high 22 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 4:20 am
    • AJ Minter allows walk-off homer to blow save
AJ Minter blew a save by allowing two runs without recording an out Monday against Seattle while picking up a loss.

Advice: Minter was handed a one-run lead, and the southpaw allowed a base hit to Jorge Polanco before Mitch Garver took the southpaw deep on a 3-2 pitch to give Seattle the win. Minter has been an excellent high-leverage option for Atlanta, but this one will hurt fantasy managers who have the 30-year-old on the roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:15 pm
    • MRI brings positive news
Manager Kevin Cash stated Monday that the news on Lowe's MRI was "pretty good" and the team is monitoring him on a day-to-day basis, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe was expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list over the weekend after recovering from an oblique injury that forced him to miss the first month of the 2024 campaign, but the club pushed the pause button after he felt some tightness in his right hamstring. This update from Cash is vague, so while it seems Lowe has managed to avoid a significant hamstring injury, the team has yet to provide a concrete timetable for the outfielder's return from the injured list. • Not close to rehab assignment
Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Suzuki (oblique) upped the intensity of his baseball activities Saturday and Sunday but is not close to beginning a rehab assignment, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Suzuki is getting a recovery day Monday before resuming baseball activities Tuesday and Wednesday. While he would appear to be progressing slowly but surely, he still has some hoops to jump through before he's ready to go out on a rehab assignment. Suzuki has missed the last two weeks of action with a right oblique strain. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:45 pm

    • Christian Yelich (back) throws from 120 feet away
Christian Yelich (back) threw from up to 120 feet away before Monday’s game.

Advice: Yelich has also resumed throwing, and the ability to throw from a relative distance is another positive encouragement. This was initially viewed as a potential short-term stint on the injured list, but right now it seems likely that Yelich won’t be back until the early-to-mid portion of May. • Suzuki (oblique) not ready for rehab assignment
Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters that Seiya Suzuki is not yet ready for a rehab assignment.

Advice: Counsell mentioned that Suzuki went through harder workouts Saturday and Sunday and then will resume baseball activities Tuesday and Wednesday. The manager noted that Suzuki still has “steps to clear” before he can begin that rehab assignment. It’s likely the outfielder won’t be back until near the end of May at this point. • Swats first homer Sunday
Rengifo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run in Sunday's loss to Minnesota.

Advice: Rengifo's two-run blast was a key part of a four-run fifth inning for the Halos, but Minnesota pulled away late to drop the Angels' record to 10-18. Rengifo has been a locked-in part of the team's lineup of late, starting five straight games at either second or third base. Since April 17, the utility man is slashing .343/.425/.514 with one homer, five RBI, six runs and three stolen bases over 11 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:11 pm

    • Throws from 120 feet
Yelich (back) played catch from 120 feet Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Yelich's recovery from a lower-back strain has come along more slowly than anticipated, but he's finally beginning to ramp things up. It's been two-and-a-half weeks since he last played for the Brewers and there remains no timetable for his return to the 26-man active roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:09 pm

    • Crosses plate twice in loss
De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

Advice: It was the 27-year-old's first multi-hit performance since April 17. De La Cruz has cooled down significantly, batting .205 (8-for-39) over the last 10 games, but he remains entrenched as the No. 2 hitter for a Miami team struggling to find consistent offense. On the season, he's slashing .261/.294/.437 with five homers, a steal, 13 runs and 14 RBI in 29 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:26 am
