• Mashes fifth homer
Olson went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: After hitting the ball hard most of the early part of the season with little to show for it, Olson got rewarded for his efforts Tuesday, driving in his first run with a first-inning double that had an exit velocity of 105.2 mph before he belted a three-run bomb off Jameson Taillon in the fourth that left his bat at 108.2 mph. Over the last eight games, Olson is batting .310 (9-for-29) with two of his five homers on the season as he gets back into his 2023 form. Rotowire.com Today, 1:22 am

  • Andy Pages takes golden sombrero in victory
Andy Pages went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts while the rest of the Dodgers were scoring 10 runs Tuesday against the Giants.

Advice: Jason Heyward has started a rehab assignment, so this is a really bad time for Pages to go cold. He seems like the more interesting of those two players at this point, but the Dodgers still might send him down if they think Heyward can make at least a modest contribution. • Luis Matos collects two hits against Dodgers
Luis Matos went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: The hits left his bat at 109.1 and 105.9 mph. We’re probably not grabbing Matos in a 12-team league, but there’s definitely some potential here in deeper formats, now that it looks like he could be the Giants’ center fielder the rest of the way. He’s not going to be a big plus in steals or probably runs and RBI while hitting in the bottom half of a mediocre lineup, but he doesn’t lack for ability. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:21 pm
  • Dylan Cease fans eight in loss to Rockies
Dylan Cease surrendered three runs in 5 2/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: The third run came after he was pulled in the sixth. Cease struck out eight and gave up just four hard-hit balls, although one was a homer. It’s just the second time this season that he’s failed to complete six innings. Ideally, he would have done better than this with the matchup against a terrible offense at Petco Park, but there’s very little to be disappointed about here so far. • Matt Olson has two hits, HR in win over Cubs
Matt Olson went 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in a win over the Cubs on Tuesday.

Advice: Olson took a fourth-inning pitch from Jameson Taillon and clobbered it 432 feet at 108.2 mph off the bat. He also had a 105.2 mph double in his first at-bat of the game. It hasn’t been the best start to the season for the slugger, but he’s still barreling the ball an impressive amount pulling the ball more than ever, and swinging and missing only a little bit more than normal. His zone contact is the highest it’s been since 2021, so both the power and batting average should be coming shortly. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:46 pm

  • Sitting out first game
Ruiz is absent from the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the White Sox.

Advice: Riley Adams will do the catching for Trevor Williams. Ruiz will likely be back in there for the nightcap, when Mitchell Parker will be on the mound for the Nationals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:10 am

  • Stays hot in loss
Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Candelario, who has multiple hits in three of the last six games, is heating up. He's 9-for-24 during that stretch with two doubles, a home run and six RBI. The resurrected bat prompted a move up the order to fifth, after Candelario spent time in the lower third since mid-April. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:48 am

  • Strikes out seven in no-decision
Montgomery allowed three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Monday.

Advice: Montgomery turned in an okay outing, missing out on a quality start for the second time in five games for the Diamondbacks. He's pitched to a 4.76 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB over 28.1 innings this season. Montgomery's had a bit of trouble racking up strikeouts so far as he's had to get up to speed on the job after signing with Arizona in late March. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Tigers. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:16 pm
  • Lifts three-run homer
Matos went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Matos did his damage early, taking Yoshinobu Yamamoto deep in the second inning. The homer was Matos' first hit over three games this season, and he's added four RBI and two runs scored. The outfielder was slashing a paltry .218/.309/.355 over 31 contests with Triple-A Sacramento prior to his call-up, but he'll have a chance to show what he can do in the majors while filling in for Jung Hoo Lee (shoulder) in center field.
