    • Belts first big-league long ball
Beck went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and five total RBI in an 8-0 win against the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Beck came into Wednesday batting .191 with a 42.6 percent strikeout rate, but he was showing signs of breaking out with a four-game hitting streak while recording his first career RBI in his most recent contest. The 23-year-old may have announced his arrival with Wednesday's huge performance, during which he finished a triple short of a cycle. Beck doubled home two runs in the second inning, swatted a two-run homer in the sixth and added an RBI single in the eighth. The homer was his first as a major-leaguer, though he's flashed plenty of power in the minors, racking up 33 long balls across 177 contests since being drafted in 2022. • Triples, steals base in win
Crow-Armstrong went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 7-1 win over Atlanta. He also stole a base.

Advice: Crow-Armstrong continues to show off his speed, as he recorded his first triple and fourth stolen base across 21 games this season. The 22-year-old is in a crowded outfield with the likes of Ian Happ, Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki all healthy and commanding regular playing time. However, Crow-Armstrong has plenty of talent, and his future outlook is bright even if he mostly serves as a reserve in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:43 pm
    • Jordan Beck launches first home run in victory
Jordan Beck launched the first home run of his big league career and drove in five runs on Wednesday as the Rockies slaughtered the Padres 8-0 in San Diego.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder smacked a two-run double off of Michael King in the third inning that increased the Rockies’ early advantage to 3-0. He then clobbered a 382-foot (104.6 mph EV) two-run shot off of Jeremiah Estrada in the sixth inning that made it a 7-0 ballgame. Beck also tacked on an RBI single in the eighth inning, finishing the day 3-for-4. The rookie outfielder is now hitting .235/.235/.333 with a homer, six RBI and one stolen base through his first 15 games with the Rockies. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:55 pm
    • Playing time picking up
Mastrobuoni will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against Atlanta, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: With Dansby Swanson (knee) recently going on the injured list and with Nico Hoerner (hamstring) out of the lineup for the second day in a row, Mastrobuoni has been the main beneficiary from a playing-time perspective. He'll draw his fifth start in seven games Wednesday and could continue to see fairly steady playing time in the middle infield even if Hoerner avoids a trip to the IL. • Gets third straight start
Cave will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Padres, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Cave will start in right field for the Rockies' third straight matchup with a right-handed starting pitcher and looks to have supplanted Sean Bouchard as the primary option at that position. Despite the uptick in playing time, Cave will likely soon be headed for a reserve role with Kris Bryant (back) trending toward a return from the 10-day injured list as soon as this weekend. • Sitting in third straight
Bouchard is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: The Rockies haven't indicated that Bouchard is dealing with an injury or illness, so he'll find himself out of the starting nine for a third straight game in what looks to be a performance-related benching. Jake Cave will draw a third start in row in right field at Bouchard's expense, but both are likely to see reductions in playing time in the near future with Kris Bryant (back) on the cusp of a return from the injured list. • Goodman, Bouchard again sitting for Rockies
Hunter Goodman and Sean Bouchard are both on the bench for a third straight game Wednesday against the Padres.

Advice: The Rockies won the first two games of the series with Elehuris Montero at first and Jake Cave in right, so they’re not changing anything today. The handling of Goodman, one of the team’s best prospects, has been bizarre; he’s started just six of 19 games since his callup. One imagines he’ll be sent down soon. Bouchard, who has 160 points of OPS on Cave, had started seven straight games before taking a seat Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:38 am

    • Brewers call up Chris Roller for MLB debut
Brewers recalled OF Chris Roller from Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Roller, 27, will be making his major league debut. The Brewers got him from Cleveland last August and added him to the 40-man roster after the season. This year, he got hurt in April and had played in just five games since returning. Overall, he was hitting .250/.276/.357 with a 21/2 K/BB ratio in 14 games. The Brewers figure to use him primarily against lefties. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:45 am
    • Added to roster
The Brewers recalled Roller from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Advice: It's the first major-league promotion for Roller, who recently returned from an undisclosed injury at Nashville, where he's hit .250/.276/.357 in 14 games this season. The 27-year-old will back up at all three outfield spots and could see a little action versus lefties. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:31 am
