    • Three-hit effort in win
Madrigal went 3-for-4 in Wednesday's 7-1 win over Atlanta.

Advice: All three hits were singles as Madrigal earned his fourth multi-hit effort in 39 contests this season. The infielder is slashing .234/.300/.281 with no home runs, nine RBI, four runs scored and one stolen base over 69 plate appearances. Madrigal had been limited to a bench role for much of the season, but he's receiving more playing time while Dansby Swanson (knee) is on the injured list and Nico Hoerner (hamstring) is out of the lineup. • Belts first big-league long ball
Beck went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and five total RBI in an 8-0 win against the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Beck came into Wednesday batting .191 with a 42.6 percent strikeout rate, but he was showing signs of breaking out with a four-game hitting streak while recording his first career RBI in his most recent contest. The 23-year-old may have announced his arrival with Wednesday's huge performance, during which he finished a triple short of a cycle. Beck doubled home two runs in the second inning, swatted a two-run homer in the sixth and added an RBI single in the eighth. The homer was his first as a major-leaguer, though he's flashed plenty of power in the minors, racking up 33 long balls across 177 contests since being drafted in 2022. • Triples, steals base in win
Crow-Armstrong went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 7-1 win over Atlanta. He also stole a base.

Advice: Crow-Armstrong continues to show off his speed, as he recorded his first triple and fourth stolen base across 21 games this season. The 22-year-old is in a crowded outfield with the likes of Ian Happ, Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki all healthy and commanding regular playing time. However, Crow-Armstrong has plenty of talent, and his future outlook is bright even if he mostly serves as a reserve in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 7:43 pm
    • Jordan Beck launches first home run in victory
Jordan Beck launched the first home run of his big league career and drove in five runs on Wednesday as the Rockies slaughtered the Padres 8-0 in San Diego.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder smacked a two-run double off of Michael King in the third inning that increased the Rockies’ early advantage to 3-0. He then clobbered a 382-foot (104.6 mph EV) two-run shot off of Jeremiah Estrada in the sixth inning that made it a 7-0 ballgame. Beck also tacked on an RBI single in the eighth inning, finishing the day 3-for-4. The rookie outfielder is now hitting .235/.235/.333 with a homer, six RBI and one stolen base through his first 15 games with the Rockies. Rotoworld Today, 3:55 pm

    • Sent to Triple-A
The Giants optioned Reetz to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old was called up Monday after being demoted over the weekend, and he'll head back to Triple-A as veteran Curt Casali inked a major-league contract with the Giants. Reetz will continue to serve as organizational catching depth with Sacramento. Rotowire.com Today, 3:35 pm

    • Moved to 60-day IL
The Giants transferred Murphy (knee) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Murphy was given a 4-to-6 week recovery timeline when he landed on the injured list May 5 due to a sprained left knee. However, his move to the 60-day IL will make him ineligible to return until July 4. The Giants signed Curt Casali on Wednesday to fill Murphy's spot on the 40-man roster and provide emergency catcher depth with Patrick Bailey (concussion) also out. Rotowire.com Today, 3:34 pm

    • Giants transfer Tom Murphy to 60-day IL
Giants transferred C Tom Murphy to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Nothing has changed in the prognosis for Murphy — who is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a left knee sprain — this was done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the Giants’ 40-man roster for Curt Casali who was signed to a big league deal on Wednesday. • Giants option Jakson Reetz back to Triple-A
Giants optioned C Jakson Reetz to Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: With Curt Casali joining the big league roster on Wednesday, there simply wasn’t room for the Giants to carry a third catcher, forcing Reetz back to Triple-A. He’ll continue to serve as extra depth there until he’s called upon once again. Rotoworld Today, 3:23 pm

    • Playing time picking up
Mastrobuoni will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against Atlanta, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: With Dansby Swanson (knee) recently going on the injured list and with Nico Hoerner (hamstring) out of the lineup for the second day in a row, Mastrobuoni has been the main beneficiary from a playing-time perspective. He'll draw his fifth start in seven games Wednesday and could continue to see fairly steady playing time in the middle infield even if Hoerner avoids a trip to the IL. Rotowire.com Today, 1:48 pm
