    • Churns out another multi-hit game
Bohm went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run scored Sunday in the Phillies' 8-6 win over the Padres.

Advice: Recently elevated into the cleanup spot, Bohm has stayed on a heater at the plate to give the Phillies little reason to think about moving him down in the order. He's now turned in multi-hit efforts in eight of his last 10 games, batting .548 during that stretch to lift his season-long average up to .365, trailing only Mookie Betts (.387) and Will Smith (.367) for tops among qualified hitters. • Stolen base in return to lineup
Cruz went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday against the Giants.

Advice: Cruz was held out of Saturday's lineup after tweaking his ankle in the series opener against the Giants. He notably moved up the order to hit third in his return Sunday and seemed to put the injury issue behind him as he swiped his third base of the season. Cruz is off to a slow start to the campaign, but he's shown some improvement of late by going 8-for-22 with a 25 percent strikeout rate across his last seven games. • Spins gem against STL
Quintana didn't factor into the decision, allowing one run on three hits and a walk across eight innings Sunday against St. Louis. He struck out three.

Advice: Quintana completed six innings for the first time all season, going eight frames for the first time since September of 2022. However, he didn't get the win, as the contest went into the extras tied 1-1. The veteran southpaw has yielded fewer than three earned runs in four of his six starts and has yet to exceed four strikeouts in 2024. He's tentatively lined up for a start Friday against Tampa Bay. • Launches grand slam
Chisholm reached base three times, going 1-for-3 with a grand slam, two walks and two runs scored during Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Chisholm's third blast of the season came off Nationals starter Patrick Corbin and got the Marlins off to a great start, plating four runs prior to the Nationals recording an out. Chisholm, who entered the game with just two hits in his previous 13 at-bats, ended a 17-game homerless drought with the first-inning bomb. His average now stands at .245 with three home runs, 15 RBI, 12 runs scored and five steals, while he's reached base at a career-high .342 clip. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:07 pm

    • Andrew Abbott can’t overcome poor first in defeat
Andrew Abbott gave up four runs over five innings Sunday in a loss to the Rangers.

Advice: All of the runs scored in the first. Two came on an inside-the-park homer, but it was a legit inside-the-park homer and not one the defense could have done much about. The other two were produced by a regular old homer from Adolis García. Abbott went on to strike out seven and walk none, so this was a pretty solid day for him. He deserves better than a 1-3 record for his 3.27 ERA. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:42 pm

    • Struggles early against Texas
Abbott (1-3) was tagged with the loss after he pitched 5.1 innings, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out seven in Sunday's 4-3 defeat to the Rangers.

Advice: Abbott struggled early, surrendering a pair of two-run home runs in the first inning, including an inside-the-park homer to Wyatt Langford, which gave the Rangers a 4-0 lead. The left-hander was able to settle down after the difficult first frame, tossing 4.1 scoreless innings to end his outing. Abbott entered Sunday having given up two or fewer runs in each of his five starts in 2024, but he'll now carry a 3.27 ERA into his next projected start Saturday at home versus the Orioles. • José Quintana gets through eight against Cardinals
José Quintana surrendered only run and three hits over eight innings Sunday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Quintana hadn’t lasted longer than 5 2/3 innings in any of his five starts this season before getting through eight against the feeble Cardinals today. This lowers his ERA to 3.48, but we wouldn’t trust him as a mixed-league guy right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:36 pm

    • Jazz homers, drives in four in loss to Nationals
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 1-for-3 with a home run, two walks, and four RBI in a loss to the Nationals on Sunday.

Advice: Jazz clobbered a 395-foot grand slam off Patrick Corbin in the first inning at 102.7 mph. It was especially impressive coming off of a left-handed pitcher. While he didn’t get another hit on the day, he did work two walks, which is always nice to see from a young hitter who tends to be a free swinger. Chisholm Jr. is now hitting .245/.342/.382 on the season with three home runs and 15 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:36 pm

    • Set for second rehab start Thursday
Megill (shoulder) is scheduled to make the second start of his minor-league rehab assignment Thursday with Double-A Binghamton, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: On the shelf since April 1 with a right shoulder strain, Megill appears to be nearing the finish line of his recovery process after he began in his rehab assignment Saturday with High-A Brooklyn. Megill struck out six over two perfect innings with Brooklyn, but he'll move up a rung on the minor-league ladder and look to build up his pitch count to around 60 when he takes the mound again Thursday. After his upcoming outing with Binghamton, Megill will likely require one more rehab start beyond that before being deemed ready to rejoin the Mets rotation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:05 pm
