    • Takes seat Wednesday
Chourio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: The rookie will bow out of the lineup for the series finale while Jake Bauers picks up a start in left field alongside Blake Perkins and Sal Frelick. After opening his big-league career by producing hits in 11 of his first 13 games, Chourio has fallen into a massive slump since mid-April. Over his subsequent 14 games, Chourio has gone 6-for-43 (.140) while getting on base at a .196 clip. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago
    • Homers again Tuesday
Soto went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Soto cut the Yankees' deficit to 4-2 in the sixth inning with a 447-foot blast of Dean Kremer, his eighth homer of the year. Soto extended his hitting streak to eight games -- he's gone 10-for-30 with three homers and a 1.099 OPS in that span. The 25-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a stellar start in New York, slashing .325/.432/.588 with 24 RBI, 22 runs scored and two steals through his first 31 games. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago
    • Getting breather Wednesday
Turner is not in the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the Royals.

Advice: It's a routine maintenance day for Turner, who hit two homers in the series opener Monday before going hitless Tuesday. Daniel Vogelbach will be the designated hitter Wednesday and also occupy the cleanup spot. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago

    • Timely hit in Tuesday's win
Machado went 1-for-5 with a three-run double in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Machado stepped up to the plate in the fifth with the bases juiced and cleared them all with a double to center field. That was his first extra-base hit since April 14 and his first multi-RBI game since April 12. He's tallied a hit in four of his five games since being reinstated from the paternity list and is now slashing .250/.304/.388 with four homers, 16 RBI, 16 runs and a 9:29 BB:K in 125 plate appearances. • Swipes eighth bag
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Garcia has hit safely in five straight games, going 8-for-22 (.364) with two steals, four RBI and four runs scored in that span. He continues to improve at the plate as he shakes off a slow start to the campaign. Overall, the 24-year-old is slashing .231/.280/.388 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 15 runs scored and eight steals through 30 contests this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:45 pm
    • Mitch Keller gives up three runs in loss to A’s
Mitch Keller dropped to 2-3 after allowing three runs in five innings Tuesday against the A’s.

Advice: Keller struck out seven tonight, so that’s not bad. Still, he should have far better than a 5.18 ERA while facing a pretty easy schedule to date. His slider is just broken, and his lack of a true offspeed pitch has caught up to him big time. There’s still plenty of hope here for the long run, but we’d feel better about him if he pitched for a team with more of a clue. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:38 pm
    • Middling once again
Keller (2-3) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings against the A's. He struck out seven.

Advice: Although Keller punched out seven batters for a second consecutive outing, he was tagged for a trio of runs, including a solo homer by JJ Bleday. After entering the 2024 season with relatively high expectations, Keller has fallen to a 5.18 ERA through 40.0 innings and has surrendered five or more hits in all seven starts. He's scheduled for a home start against the Angels on Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:48 pm
    • Takes loss Tuesday
Alzolay (1-3) allowed three unearned runs on two hits across an inning of work to take the loss Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: Alzolay should have had a 1-2-3 sixth inning, but a Dansby Swanson throwing error gave the Mets life, and they took advantage. A single and a three-run home run by DJ Stewart quickly broke open a 1-1 tie, and New York hung on for the 4-2 win, which saddled Alzolay with his third loss of the season. While it wasn't all his fault Tuesday, it's been a struggle overall for the righty, as he blew four saves in the early going to get yanked from the closer's role. Hector Neris stepped in to replace Alzolay, and it doesn't look like things are going to change anytime soon. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:53 pm

    • Placed on injured list
The Angels placed Trout on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Advice: Trout was diagnosed with a torn meniscus Tuesday and will require surgery, so a move to the IL was expected. It's worth noting the 32-year-old superstar was placed on the 10-day IL rather than the 60-day list, which may indicate the Angels expect Trout to bounce back from his procedure relatively quickly.
