    • Wilyer Abreu (ankle) sprinting at full speed
Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora told reporters on Saturday that Wilyer Abreu (ankle) is now sprinting at full speed.

Advice: The 24-year-old outfielder is expected to be ready for a minor league rehab assignment early next week, and should only need a couple of games to get his timing back before he’s ready to rejoin the Red Sox’ lineup. Before landing on the injured list in early June, Abreu had been hitting .272/.344/.485 with six homers, 22 RBI and seven stolen bases through his first 189 plate appearances. • Knocks fourth homer
Friedl went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Brewers.

Advice: Friedl opened the game's scoring with his solo shot in the third inning. He singled and scored in the fifth and knocked in a run during the sixth. Friedl has four home runs this season, all coming over his last 11 games. During that stretch, he's hitting .309 with 12 RBI despite collecting multiple hits only twice. Friedl is slashing .247/.353/.438 through 85 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:18 pm
    • Rehab assignment next week
Abreu (ankle) is likely to begin a rehab assignment next week, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Abreu has been upping his workouts this week and is days away from testing out his right ankle in game action. He's less than two weeks removed from suffered an ankle sprain, so Abreu shouldn't need many rehab at-bats before rejoining the Red Sox' roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:36 pm

    • TJ Friedl scores run as Reds top Guardians
TJ Friedl singled and scored a run as the Reds triumphed over the Guardians on Wednesday evening in Cincinnati.

Advice: Friedl singled off of Tanner Bibee in the sixth inning, then rode home on Jeimer Candelario’s go-ahead three-run homer. That would be the 28-year-old outfielder’s only hit in four at-bats on the day. He has been having a rough time at the plate in-between stints on the injured list this season, slashing a mere .221/.338/.382 with three homers, 13 RBI and five stolen bases in his first 19 games. • Matt Vierling clubs solo homer in loss to Nats
Matt Vierling clubbed a solo home run on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t enough to power the Tigers to victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Vierling connected on a 363-foot (94.6 mph EV) solo shot to lead off the home half of the first inning for the Tigers. He finished the night 1-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts and is now hitting .268/.309/.468 with eight long balls and 27 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:40 pm

Christian Yelich went 3-for-4 with an RBI and also stole a base on Wednesday in the Brewers’ victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Yelich finished with a game-high three hits, including a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning, and also picked up his 12th stolen base in this one. • Back 'sooner rather than later'
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that he expects Abreu (ankle) to return from the 10-day injured list "sooner rather than later," Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Cora said that Abreu still feels some minor discomfort with his right ankle when running in a straight line, but the outfielder is doing much better. He will need a rehab assignment, so Abreu won't be ready for activation when first eligible Thursday. However, the Red Sox likely won't have to wait too much longer to get Abreu back. • Racks up three hits in loss
Burleson went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: There wasn't much for the hitters early in this contest, but Burleson was able to account for two of the five runs on Pittsburgh starter Paul Skenes' line. Through 10 games in June, Burleson is batting .286 (12-for-42) with five extra-base hits. He continues to be consistent for the Cardinals with a .283/.314/.455 slash line, nine home runs, 24 RBI, 20 runs scored and two stolen bases over 58 contests this season. Four of his homers have come in June. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:10 am

    • Yelich doubles in shutout loss to Blue Jays
Christian Yelich went 1-for-4 with a double in the Brewers’ 3-0 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Yelich’s double was one of just five hits the Brewers could muster on the night as Yusei Kikuchi and the Blue Jays bullpen shut them down all evening. Yelich is slashing .278/.341/.306 on the month with no home runs Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:17 pm
