    • Goes deep in win
Benson started in center field and batted leadoff, going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-2 win over Arizona.

Advice: Benson delivered the go-ahead knock in the fifth inning, his first home run since April 27. With TJ Friedl (thumb) landing on the injured list, Benson is likely to fill in against right-handers, while Stuart Fairchild operates against lefties. Benson's hit the ball hard, per Statcast, but has little show for it (.193 batting average, .393 slugging). Rotowire.com Today, 3:46 am

    • Dominant in Tuesday's win
Sale (6-1) picked up the win in Tuesday's 7-0 victory over the Cubs, scattering two hits over seven scoreless innings. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

Advice: The veteran southpaw simply overmatched Chicago's hitters, and the only runner to get into scoring position against Sale came after one of his two HBPs on the night. He generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 92 pitches as he produced his second straight quality start and fourth of the season, and Sale will take a 2.54 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and eye-popping 61:8 K:BB through 49.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Padres. • Ryan Helsey records 13th save in win over Angels
Ryan Helsley recorded his 13th save with a scoreless ninth against the Angels on Tuesday.

Advice: Helsley pitched a whole lot during April, but it definitely hasn’t caused any problems yet; he’s posted his best velocity numbers of the year his last two times out, averaging 101.0 mph with his fastball on Sunday and 100.7 mph tonight. He’s gone 14 straight appearances without allowing an earned run and the one unearned run he’s given up during the stretch was an automatic runner in the 10th inning. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:24 pm

    • Will Benson homers in Reds’ victory
Will Benson hit a two-run homer as the Reds’ leadoff man Tuesday in the win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Benson figured to play less with TJ Friedl back, but he gained an unfortunate reprieve when Friedl suffered a broken thumb. There’s still some fantasy potential here, even though he’s been an obvious disappointment with his .193/.288/.393 line to date. He now has five homers and eight steals in 153 plate appearances. • Earns save No. 13
Helsley allowed a hit and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Helsley has a win and six saves during his nine-inning scoreless streak, a span that's seen him allowed six hits and one walk while striking out 11. The right-hander is 13-for-14 in save chances this season with a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 23:2 K:BB over 20 innings. Helsley seems to be benefiting from being the stand-alone closer as opposed to part of a committee. His career high in saves is 19 in 2022, a mark he should be able to shatter as long as he doesn't add to his lengthy injury history. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm

    • Chris Sale stays hot in domination of Cubs
Chris Sale threw seven shutout innings in a 7-0 win over the Cubs, allowing just two hits and striking out nine.

Advice: He’s now allowed just two runs over his last 25 innings. Sale’s slider carved up the Cubs all game, with a 44 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW on the pitch. The average exit velocity on all contact against Sale was just 81 mph as the left-hander mowed down the Cubs’ order. The effort gave him a 2.54 ERA on the year to go along with 61 strikeouts to just eight walks in 49 2/3 innings. He has been every bit the ace he was back before his injuries and there’s no reason to doubt he can keep it up as long as he can stay healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:53 pm

    • Structural damage in shoulder
Imaging revealed structural damage in Lee's left shoulder Tuesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lee landed on the injured list Monday due to a dislocated shoulder, though it appears he may be at risk of missing an extended period of time. The 25-year-old outfielder will receive a second opinion from Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Thursday, at which point more will be known about the duration of Lee's absence. Luis Matos has started both games in center field for the Giants since Lee went down. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:45 pm

    • Jung Hoo Lee has structural damage in shoulder
An MRI revealed structural damage in Jung Hoo Lee’s left shoulder.

Advice: It’s not good. Lee is facing an extended absence after dislocating his left shoulder over the weekend when he collided with the center-field wall at Oracle Park. The 25-year-old outfielder will visit Dr. Neil ElAttrache later this week for a second opinion to determine whether he’ll require surgery, which would most likely be season-ending. There should be an additional update on his status in the coming days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:38 pm

    • Swats third homer
Merrill went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's loss to Colorado.

Advice: Merrill was the only Padre with multiple hits in the contest, and his seventh-inning solo shot brought the team to within one run, though it turned out to be the final tally of the game. The rookie has notched consecutive multi-hit performances and has multiple hits in four of his past eight contests overall, so he could be back on the rise following an eight-game stretch from late April to early May during which he went 1-for-23 at the plate. Merrill still has a strong .291/.342/.403 slash line along with three homers, 17 RBI, 18 runs and six stolen bases on the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:42 am
