    • Available off bench Monday
Encarnacion-Strand (hand) was available off the bench for Monday's 5-2 win over the Padres, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand, who sat out a second consecutive game, underwent a precautionary MRI on Monday. The results of the imaging were not yet known at game time, but manager David Bell considered the first baseman available if needed. Rotowire.com Today, 4:51 am
    • Belts homer in win
De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in a 5-2 victory against the Padres.

Advice: De La Cruz set the Reds on a positive path with his massive 443-foot solo shot to center field in the first inning. The long ball snapped a four game-stretch during which the dynamic young shortstop didn't knock any extra-base hits and went just 1-for-13 at the plate, though he did maintain valuable production with three thefts during that span. De La Cruz has been one of baseball's most impressive performers early in the campaign, slashing .280/.390/.590 with eight home runs, 19 RBI, 26 runs and a league-leading 18 stolen bases through 118 plate appearances. • Wins game with walk-off homer
Garver went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Monday in a 2-1 win over Atlanta.

Advice: It's been a rough season for Garver, as he's slashing just .150/.266/.313 through 94 plate appearances. However, Seattle has stuck with him as the team's primary DH, and that decision paid off Monday when he launched a two-run, ninth-inning shot to give the Mariners a come-from-behind win. Garver could be building a bit of momentum, as he's gone deep in two of his past four games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:57 pm

    • Sent for precautionary MRI
Encarnacion-Strand (hand) underwent a precautionary MRI on Monday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand has been held out of each of his club's last two games while dealing with soreness in his left hand, and the team sent him for further imaging Monday to make sure he's not dealing with anything serious. "He's feeling better, but we're just making sure," said manager David Bell. Encarnacion-Strand will continue to be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:24 pm
    • Mitch Garver hits walk-off homer to beat Atlanta
Mitch Garver hit a walk-off two-run homer to give Seattle a 2-1 win over Atlanta on Monday.

Advice: Garver has easily his biggest hit as a member of the Mariners. The 33-year-old DH took a 3-2 offering from AJ Minter deep into the left-field stands with the team trailing by a run in the bottom of the ninth to give Seattle an improbable victory. Garver has been awful in 2024 with a .150 average, but it didn’t matter tonight. It likely won’t matter as long as he can stay healthy; the offensive track-record suggests more good things are coming. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:15 pm

    • Encarnacion-Strand out again with hand injury
Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand) is not in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Padres.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand was plunked in the hand during Saturday’s game, and he was held out of the lineup Sunday as well. The 24-year-old will miss at least one more game with Jeimer Candelario lined up at first base and Santiago Espinal in at third. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:00 pm
    • Reaches 200 career homers
Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: His blast in the fifth inning off Sonny Gray capped the scoring for the Mets in an eventual 7-4 loss. It was Alonso's 200th career homer, putting him in very select company -- only Darryl Strawberry, David Wright and Mike Piazza have also reached that milestone in a Mets uniform. Alonso has played in every game this season for New York, slashing .248/.336/.505 over 27 contests with eight home runs, 14 RBI and 20 runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:50 am

    • Goes deep in loss
Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a double in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Cronenworth doubled his first time up and then would briefly put the Padres in front with a two-run shot to right off Taijuan Walker in the third. The 30-year-old has found his bat lately with seven hits and five RBI over his last five games. For the year, he's now slashing .264/.344/.453 with four homers, 19 RBI, 14 runs and a 12:19 BB:K in 122 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:35 am

    • Delivers 11-strikeout gem
Pfaadt did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mariners. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out 11 over six innings.

Advice: Pfaadt did not get off to an ideal start after allowing a leadoff home run to Josh Rojas, though he was able to settle in quickly with the only other extra-base hit being a triple by Leonardo Rivas. Pfaadt ended his day by retiring the final 11 batters he faced. His 11 strikeouts set a new career high, and he relied heavily on his sweeper, registering nine of his 17 whiffs on that pitch. He's now allowed two runs or fewer in three straight starts and will take a 4.63 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 38:6 K:BB into his next start, projected to come against San Diego next weekend.
