    • Continues hot stretch
Adell went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in a 6-5 win against the Phillies.

Advice: Adell batted out of the No. 2 spot for the first time this season and immediately made his presence felt with a solo homer in the first inning. The long ball was his second in three games, and he's knocked in five runs over that stretch. Adell has been swinging a hot bat since mid-April -- he's reached base safely in 10 straight contests and is slashing .407/.484/.815 with three home runs, eight RBI, five runs and a stolen base during that span. • Jo Adell homers from two hole in Angels’ win
Jo Adell hit his fourth homer Monday as the Angels edged the Phillies 6-5.

Advice: Adell was moved into the second spot in the lineup tonight, and while we’re not sure that’s exactly the right spot for an awful baserunner who strikes out a whole lot, it’s closer to where he belongs than where he was batting previously. Adell remains a flawed player, but he definitely seems to have made some gains again this year after also showing signs of progress last season. Whether he’s a long-term asset in mixed leagues remains to be seen, but he’s worth using right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:21 pm

    • Set for Tuesday return
Darvish (neck) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Reds, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Darvish landed on the IL on April 17 with neck tightness, but he'll be ready to return when first eligible after he checked out fine while throwing a bullpen session last Wednesday. Before his brief shutdown due to the injury, Darvish didn't display his best stuff through his first five outings of the 2024 campaign, posting a 4.18 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 22 punchouts over 23.2 frames. • Nolan Jones likely headed to IL with back injury
Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports that Nolan Jones (back) is likely headed to the injured list.

Advice: Jones was removed from Sunday’s game with stiffness in his back. The 25-year-old will be replaced on the roster by prospect Jordan Beck, with the transaction likely announced Tuesday. Jones has been a disappointment this year, and now he’ll miss at least a week while recovering from the back ailment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:39 pm

    • Runs wild again Monday
Young went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases in Monday's 7-2 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Both pilfers came in the fifth inning, as Young stole second then teamed up with CJ Abrams on a double steal after the shortstop drew a walk. Young's 12 stolen bases on the season are third in the majors behind Elly De La Cruz (18) and Brice Turang (13), and he's slashing .328/.368/.391 through 21 games. Victor Robles (hamstring) is set to begin a rehab assignment this week as he nears his return from the IL, but Young seems to have a firm hold on the starting job in center field for the Nationals. • Not close to rehab assignment
Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Suzuki (oblique) upped the intensity of his baseball activities Saturday and Sunday but is not close to beginning a rehab assignment, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Suzuki is getting a recovery day Monday before resuming baseball activities Tuesday and Wednesday. While he would appear to be progressing slowly but surely, he still has some hoops to jump through before he's ready to go out on a rehab assignment. Suzuki has missed the last two weeks of action with a right oblique strain. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:45 pm

    • Suzuki (oblique) not ready for rehab assignment
Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters that Seiya Suzuki is not yet ready for a rehab assignment.

Advice: Counsell mentioned that Suzuki went through harder workouts Saturday and Sunday and then will resume baseball activities Tuesday and Wednesday. The manager noted that Suzuki still has “steps to clear” before he can begin that rehab assignment. It’s likely the outfielder won’t be back until near the end of May at this point. • Gets day off
Rosario is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Rosario is on the bench for the first time since April 13, breaking a stretch of 14 consecutive starts during which he slashed .351/.373/.509 with two home runs, two stolen bases, nine RBI and seven runs. He's seen action mostly in right field and second base during that time and should continue to maintain a near-everyday role so long as he remains productive at the dish. • Batting second Monday
Adell will start in right field and bat second in Monday's contest versus the Phillies.

Advice: It's Adell's seventh straight start in right field and the first time this season that he's batted higher than sixth. The 25-year-old is sporting a .327/.382/.592 batting line with three home runs and five stolen bases over his first 21 games this season and, perhaps most importantly, he's striking out at just a 23.6 percent clip. Adell came into this season with a career 35.4 percent strikeout rate at the major-league level. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:04 pm
