      The Padres are calling Xander Bogaerts’ injury left shoulder inflammation.

      Advice: It’s an odd diagnosis, being that this was a sudden injury sustained while diving for a ball, but it’s what we’re left with after the Padres couldn’t initially find anything serious going on within the shoulder.       Dylan Cease lasted only four innings against the Braves in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader, giving up five runs in a no-decision.

He also surrendered his fourth and fifth homers of the year. Chalk it up to a bad day against a talented lineup.       Advice: Cole played catch on Monday and felt good, so he will now progress to facing live hitters for the first time in his rehab process. The current timeline, provided he doesn’t experience any setbacks, is for Cole to return sometime in mid to late June.
