• Earns ugly win
Lopez (2-2) allowed four runs on four hits and a walk in five innings Sunday, striking out eight and picking up a win over the Angels.

Advice: Lopez tossed four shutout frames before the Angels caught fire in the fifth inning, plating four runs. Three of those runs came via back-to-back homers by Luis Rengifo and Nolan Schanuel. Lopez forced 13 whiffs after totaling just five in his last outing against the White Sox. Still, he saw his ERA climb to 4.83 through six starts. Lopez is currently in line for a home matchup with Boston next weekend. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

  • Tanner Houck fans nine in tough-luck no-decision
Tanner Houck was brilliant in a tough-luck no-decision on Sunday night, piling up nine strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: Houck scattered just four hits on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single by Matt Mervis in the seventh inning — the final batter that Houck faced. The 27-year-old right-hander generated 16 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night — getting five or more whiffs on each of his slider, sinker and splitter — while posting a CSW of 35 percent. He’ll bring a pristine 1.60 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and a 41/5 K/BB ratio (39 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Twins in Minnesota. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

  • Hayden Wesneski pitches well in no-decision Sunday
Hayden Wesneski pitched well in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Sunday night, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits over his four innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander walked one and struck out three batters on the night. The Red Sox scratched out single runs against him in the first and third innings — both on RBI singles by Connor Wong. The 26-year-old hurler got eight swings and misses on 63 pitches on the night — five of those on his fastball that averaged 94.8 mph — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. With Jordan Wicks shelved, he’ll have an opportunity to stick in the Cubs’ rotation for at least a few weeks now. His next turn will come on Friday against the Brewers. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

  • Lit up during no-decision
Corbin did not factor into the decision during Sunday's win over the Marlins, allowing seven runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Corbin labored through 93 pitches in just four innings, digging his own grave by starting just eight of 22 batters with a first pitch strike. The veteran southpaw shut down a potent Dodgers lineup during his last start but couldn't carry the momentum into this matchup with the Marlins, allowing all seven runs during the first two innings. Following the rough start, Corbin did face the minimum through his final two innings, providing a bit of a silver lining over the bad start and allowing the Nationals an opportunity to come all the way back and secure the victory. Corbin's next start is tentatively scheduled to take place during a home set next weekend against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Earns first career save
Erceg tossed one flawless inning, striking out two to earn the save during Sunday's 7-6 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Erceg was called upon to close the door for his first career save after the A's commandeered the lead in the top of the ninth. The A's regular closer, Mason Miller, has been a revelation in end-game situations for Oakland but was rested for a second game in a row, affording the rare save opportunity for Erceg. • Allows four earned in no-decision
Suarez did not factor into the decision during Sunday's 7-6 loss to the A's, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over four innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Suarez allowed his first earned runs of the season, laboring through 83 pitches prior to being pulled with the lead after finishing four innings. Suarez had been unscored upon in his first two starts spanning 11.1 innings since being recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on April 17. Suarez's future in the Baltimore rotation is currently uncertain, as both Kyle Bradish and John Means are finishing up their respective rehab assignments and are expected to soon return to the big club. • Lit up by Orioles
Blackburn did not factor into the decision during Sunday's 7-6 win over the Orioles, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over four innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Blackburn was lit up by the Orioles, allowing four extra-base hits including three home runs. He was on the hook for his second loss until the A's salvaged the come-from-behind win. Following a flawless start to the season that saw him allow no earned runs spanning 19.1 innings through his first three starts, Blackburn has progressively regressed over his next three starts, allowing 13 runs over that 15.2 inning stretch. He'll look to right the ship during his next start, tentatively slated to take place next weekend when the Miami Marlins come to Oakland for a three-game set. Rotowire.com Today, 5:48 pm

He now holds a 4.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 37/7 K/BB ratio over 31 2/3 innings through his first six starts on the season. He’ll do battle against the Red Sox his next time out at home on Saturday. • Starting Tuesday
Turnbull will start Tuesday's game against the Angels, with Zack Wheeler getting moved back a day and Aaron Nola moved back to Friday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Manager Rob Thomson said that he wanted to give Wheeler and Nola the extra rest days, and that he's not inclined to go with a six-man rotation. However, this buys him another start to compare Turnbull against Taijuan Walker and allows people to use Turnbull for another week. Rotowire.com Today, 5:06 pm
