• Yankees activate Ian Hamilton on Tuesday

  • Blake Treinen records first save since 2021
Blake Treinen tossed a perfect 10th inning on Tuesday against the Mets to record his first save of the season.

Advice: Treinen was summoned to protect a three-run lead in extra innings during the opening contest of Tuesday’s doubleheader at Citi Field and needed just 13 pitches (nine strikes) to hurl a flawless frame. He struck out Brett Baty, got Tomás Nido to fly out and fanned Francisco Lindor to preserve the victory. It was his first save in the majors since the 2021 campaign. Rotoworld Today, 3:58 pm

  • Adam Ottavino blows save Tuesday vs. Dodgers
Adam Ottavino allowed one run in the ninth inning on Tuesday in a blown save against the Dodgers.

Advice: Ottavino got the call over Edwin Díaz to protect a one-run lead in the final frame and wound up surrendering three straight hits, including a game-tying hit single to Chris Taylor. The veteran righty managed to wriggle out of the jam without any further damage, but the Mets wound up falling in extra innings. Not great. It’s unclear where manager Carlos Mendoza will go from here, but we’re guessing Díaz will probably wind up getting the next save chance. Rotoworld Today, 3:58 pm

  • Activated from IL
The Guardians reinstated Morgan (shoulder) from the injured list Tuesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Morgan landed on the injured list in mid-April due to right shoulder inflammation and began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Columbus on May 4. Since then, he's posted a 3.24 ERA and 1.08 WHIP across 8.1 innings while striking out nine batters and walking six. The 28-year-old righty had been one of the more reliable members of Cleveland's bullpen before getting injured, though he figures to pitch in middle relief now that he's healthy. Xzavion Curry was optioned to Columbus in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 2:29 pm
  • Guardians activate Eli Morgan for Tuesday return
Guardians activated RHP Eli Morgan from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Morgan returns to Cleveland’s relief mix on Tuesday night at Coors Field after missing nearly six weeks due to right shoulder inflammation. The 28-year-old righty has been a key component of the Guardians’ high-leverage core for the last few years, so his return will definitely provide a lift. Rotoworld Today, 2:25 pm
  • Blue Jays activate reliever Chad Green on Tuesday
Blue Jays activated RHP Chad Green from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Green returns to Toronto’s high-leverage mix after missing nearly six weeks recovering from a right shoulder strain. The 33-year-old righty pitched well in seven relief appearances to open the season prior to hitting the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 2:19 pm
  • Demoted to Triple-A
The Blue Jays optioned Swanson to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Advice: After finishing with a sub-3.00 ERA in each of the past two seasons, Swanson has allowed 14 earned runs in 13.2 frames to begin the 2024 campaign. He's been trending in the right direction as of late, posting a 3.52 ERA across 7.2 innings since May 7, but he will head to Triple-A nonetheless to ensure that his struggles will be completely behind him by the time he pitches on a big-league mound again. Chad Green (shoulder) was reinstated from the injured list to take Swanson's roster spot. Rotowire.com Today, 2:19 pm
  • Blue Jays option Erik Swanson to Triple-A
Blue Jays optioned RHP Erik Swanson to Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: Swanson has scuffled to a disastrous 9.22 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 10/4 K/BB ratio across 13 2/3 innings (17 appearances) this season after being one of Toronto’s key high-leverage options the previous year. He’ll get a chance to work on things in the minors and should return in a couple weeks. Rotoworld Today, 2:17 pm
