• Swipes first two bags of season
Ortega went 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Advice: Getting the start in center field and batting seventh against southpaw Mitchell Parker, Ortega swiped second base both times he got on board. The hit and the steals were the first of the season for the 33-year-old, and the last two starts for the lefty-swinging Ortega have curiously come against left-handed pitching, as he filled in for Gavin Sheets on Tuesday and Andrew Benintendi on Sunday. With Luis Robert (hip) close to beginning a rehab assignment though, Ortega's time on the big-league roster is likely drawing to a close. Rotowire.com Today, 12:42 am

  • Alec Burleson homers, doubles in Cardinals’ win
Alec Burleson finished 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and a double as the Cardinals edged the Angels 7-6 on Tuesday.

Advice: It was rather surprising that Burleson was even in the lineup tonight, as he was making just his fourth start against a left-handed pitcher. The strong showing puts him up to .272/.306/.437 this season, and while that might not be overly exciting, his .743 OPS is tops on the Cardinals, at least once one excludes the .950 mark posted by Willson Contreras before he got hurt. Burleson remains an iffy played in mixed leagues, but it’d be no surprise if he remains one of the best bats on a subpar offense. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:24 pm

  • Stellar in Tuesday's win
Burleson went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Burleson has gone 9-for-24 (.375) over his last seven games, with five of his hits in that span going for extra bases. He also picked up his first steal of the campaign in Tuesday's win. The 25-year-old is up to a .272/.306/.437 slash line with four homers, 15 RBI, seven runs scored and five doubles over 108 plate appearances. He's operated in a strong-side platoon role for much of the season, but it's encouraging to note that two of his three hits Tuesday, including his homer, came against left-handed pitchers. With both Dylan Carlson and Lars Nootbaar under the Mendoza line, there could be an opportunity for Burleson to see more consistent playing time, especially since he's been in the lineup against the last three southpaws the Cardinals have faced. • Luis Matos collects two hits against Dodgers
Luis Matos went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: The hits left his bat at 109.1 and 105.9 mph. We’re probably not grabbing Matos in a 12-team league, but there’s definitely some potential here in deeper formats, now that it looks like he could be the Giants’ center fielder the rest of the way. He’s not going to be a big plus in steals or probably runs and RBI while hitting in the bottom half of a mediocre lineup, but he doesn’t lack for ability. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:21 pm

  • Flips game around with homer
Velazquez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Mariners starter Logan Gilbert was excellent until the seventh inning, and Velazquez made him pay. The homer was Velazquez's third of the year and his first since April 4. He went just 5-for-55 over a 19-game span from April 14 to May 9, but Velazquez now has a five-game hitting streak. During the streak, he's 6-for-16 (.375). Overall, he's at a .227/.292/.361 slash line with 11 RBI, 18 runs scored and a stolen base over 37 contests. With fellow corner outfielders MJ Melendez and Hunter Renfroe hitting .183 and .159, respectively, there's room for Velazquez to challenge them if manager Matt Quatraro opts for other players at designated hitter. • Nelson Velázquez hits three-run homer to lead K.C.
Nelson Velázquez hit a three-run homer off Logan Gilbert in the seventh to lead the Royals to a 4-2 win over the Mariners on Tuesday.

Advice: Velázquez struck out in his other three plate appearances tonight, but the homer was huge, as Gilbert was on the verge of getting through seven scoreless frames. It was just Velázquez’s third homer in 130 plate appearances this season. He had 14 in 147 plate appearances after arriving from the Cubs in a trade last summer. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:26 pm
  • Jesús Sánchez drives in game-winning run on Tueday
Jesús Sánchez went 1-for-4 with a game-winning groundout in the Marlins win over the Tigers on Tuesday.

Advice: Not exactly a thrilling way to earn a victory, but Sánchez had a hard-hit groundball in the top of the 10th inning that drove in a run and gave Miami a 1-0 lead. The 26-year-old is hitting just .237 on the season, but he’s making a lot of hard contact and his name was all over the Statcast bat speed and short swing leaderboards that came out this week. He’s a talented hitter, but he’s simply hitting too many groundballs right now. Still, he plays every game against right-handed pitching and hits in the middle of the Marlins’ lineup, so he’s a name you should keep an eye on. A slight approach change could lead to big results. • Not starting Tuesday
Fairchild isn't in the Reds' lineup for Tuesday's game versus Arizona.

Advice: Fairchild has turned in one hit -- a solo home run -- and walked three times across his last five games, and he'll now take a seat against Slade Cecconi and the D-backs. Jacob Hurtubise, Will Benson and Jake Fraley will start across the Reds' outfield Tuesday while Conner Capel serves as the DH. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:10 pm

  • Not in Tuesday's lineup
Brown is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Brown has gone 3-for-22 through nine games in May and will take a seat for Tuesday's contest. Brent Rooker is starting in left field while Kyle McCann serves as the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:54 pm
