• Powers offense in nightcap Tuesday
Vaughn went 2-for-3 with a walk, two home runs and four RBI in a 4-0 win over the Nationals during the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Advice: After looking shaky in the matinee by going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, Vaughn's bat roared to life in the nightcap as he crushed a three-run homer off Mitchell Parker in the third inning before adding a solo shot off Jackson Rutledge in the eighth. All three of Vaughn's long balls on the season have come in the last five games, and over his last seven contests the 26-year-old first baseman has gone 9-for-26 (.346) with three doubles and six RBI. • Alec Burleson homers, doubles in Cardinals’ win
Alec Burleson finished 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and a double as the Cardinals edged the Angels 7-6 on Tuesday.

Advice: It was rather surprising that Burleson was even in the lineup tonight, as he was making just his fourth start against a left-handed pitcher. The strong showing puts him up to .272/.306/.437 this season, and while that might not be overly exciting, his .743 OPS is tops on the Cardinals, at least once one excludes the .950 mark posted by Willson Contreras before he got hurt. Burleson remains an iffy played in mixed leagues, but it’d be no surprise if he remains one of the best bats on a subpar offense. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:24 pm

  • Stellar in Tuesday's win
Burleson went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Burleson has gone 9-for-24 (.375) over his last seven games, with five of his hits in that span going for extra bases. He also picked up his first steal of the campaign in Tuesday's win. The 25-year-old is up to a .272/.306/.437 slash line with four homers, 15 RBI, seven runs scored and five doubles over 108 plate appearances. He's operated in a strong-side platoon role for much of the season, but it's encouraging to note that two of his three hits Tuesday, including his homer, came against left-handed pitchers. With both Dylan Carlson and Lars Nootbaar under the Mendoza line, there could be an opportunity for Burleson to see more consistent playing time, especially since he's been in the lineup against the last three southpaws the Cardinals have faced. • Andrew Vaughn slugs two homers in win over Nats
Andrew Vaughn crushed a pair of homers to power the White Sox to a 4-0 victory over the Nationals in the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Vaughn was a one-man wrecking crew in this one and appears to be coming out of his extended slump at the outset of the season with three homers over his last four contests. He took Nationals starter Parker Mitchell deep for a three-run shot in the third inning before capping off the multi-homer effort with an eighth-inning solo blast off rookie Jackson Rutledge. • Resting against southpaw
Sheets isn't in the White Sox's lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Advice: With southpaw Mitchell Parker set to start on the mound for Washington, the lefty-hitting Sheets will take a seat for the nightcap. Andrew Benintendi, Rafael Ortega and Tommy Pham will start across the outfield while Sheets rests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:08 pm

  • Joey Meneses goes 4-for-4 in win over White Sox
Joey Meneses went 4-for-4 with a pair of RBI to lead the Nationals to a 6-3 win over the White Sox in the opening contest of Tuesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Meneses put Washington ahead in the fifth inning with a two-run single to left field off White Sox starter Chris Flexen. He capped off a four-hit effort with a leadoff single in the eighth inning before being lifted for a pinch-runner. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:31 pm
  • Not in Tuesday's lineup
Brown is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Brown has gone 3-for-22 through nine games in May and will take a seat for Tuesday's contest. Brent Rooker is starting in left field while Kyle McCann serves as the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:54 pm

  • Sitting Tuesday
Tellez isn't in the lineup Tuesday versus the Brewers.

Advice: Tellez has recorded just one hit across his last 22 plate appearances in an eight-game span. In his absence, Connor Joe will start at first base and bat cleanup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:28 pm
  • Promotion imminent
The Mets will recall Vientos from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Vientos has slashed .233/.343/.400 across 35 plate appearances since being sent down to Triple-A on April 30, and he will now return to New York -- presumably forming a platoon at third base with Brett Baty. Vientos went 3-for-7 with a two-run homer during his first stint in the majors. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:26 pm
