• Gets little help in loss
Corbin (1-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over 5.2 innings as the Nationals were downed 2-0 by the White Sox. He failed to strike out a batter.

Advice: The veteran southpaw wasn't fooling anyone as he managed only five swinging strikes on 82 pitches, but Corbin was able to minimize the damage against him, coming one out short of his second quality start of the season. He'll take a 5.59 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 29:18 K:BB through 48.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Twins. Rotowire.com Today, 5:48 pm

  • Angels designate Amir Garrett for assignment
Angels designated LHP Amir Garrett for assignment.

Advice: The 32-year-old southpaw struggled in six appearances with the Halos, posting a 5.06 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and an 11/5 K/BB ratio over 5 1/3 innings. He still misses plenty of bats and throws from the left side, so once again there may be interest in his services on waivers. Rotoworld Today, 5:03 pm

  • Angels recall Davis Daniel from Triple-A Salt Lake
Angels recalled RHP Davis Daniel from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander has really struggled in seven starts at the Triple-A level this season, registering a 5.89 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and a 35/11 K/BB ratio across 36 2/3 innings. Amir Garrett was designated for assignment in a corresponding move on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 4:59 pm
  • Ty France goes deep as Mariners top Royals
Ty France clubbed his fourth home run of the season on Wednesday, helping to lead the Mariners to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Royals.

He finished the afternoon 1-for-4 and is now hitting .243/.295/.368 with the aforementioned four long balls and 14 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 4:56 pm

  • Rejoining rotation Sunday or Monday
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that Megill (shoulder) will return from the 15-day injured list to start either Sunday in Miami or Monday in Cleveland, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Earlier in the week, Mendoza was non-committal regarding what type of role Megill might handle once activated, but the Mets cleared up their rotation logjam a bit Wednesday, when Jose Butto was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse. Joey Lucchesi was called up from Triple-A to start Wednesday's game in Philadelphia, but he could be sent back to the minors shortly thereafter in preparation for Megill's return to the rotation. Megill has performed well over his four minor-league rehab starts across stops with High-A Brooklyn, Double-A Binghamton and Syracuse, striking out 23 while allowing just one earned run on nine hits and one walk over 14 innings. • Injury considered mild
Manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday that Winn's forearm tightness is "pretty mild," Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Winn was removed in the fifth inning of his start in Tuesday's 10-2 loss to the Dodgers after his forearm started bothering him. Though Melvin suggested that the right-hander's injury isn't too severe, the skipper acknowledged that Winn could still miss some time. He's set to undergo an MRI on Wednesday as the Giants look to get more information on the severity of his injury, per Pavlovic. Rotowire.com Today, 4:43 pm

  • Back in majors
The Angels recalled Daniel from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: The 26-year-old had a one-day stint in the majors in late April but didn't see game action. Daniel made three appearances for the Angels last season and posted a 2.19 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 9:9 K:BB over 12.1 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 4:05 pm
  • Designated for assignment
The Angels designated Garrett for assignment Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Garrett will be pushed off the 40-man roster as Davis Daniel comes up from Triple-A Salt Lake to take Garrett's place in the Angels' bullpen. Since joining the active roster in late April, the 32-year-old southpaw has given up three earned runs while striking out 11 batters through 5.1 innings across six appearances. He's performed well in the minors this year and found a good amount of success last season with the Royals, so it's possible he draws interest from other teams on the waiver wire. • Korey Lee tallies three hits, steals base in win
Korey Lee went 3-for-3 with an RBI and also stole a base on Wednesday, lifting the White Sox to a 2-0 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Lee provided a key insurance run for the White Sox with a sixth-inning RBI single to center field off Nationals reliever Derek Law with two outs in the frame. The 25-year-old is quietly emerging as a reliable fantasy backstop in his first extended run with Chicago, batting .309 (25-for-81) with four homers and two steals through 29 games.
