    • Pitches through side tightness
Hicks said he experienced a bit of side tightness during his start against the Pirates on Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Hicks apparently felt the tightness following the sixth inning, though he still briefly came out for the seventh before being pulled after giving up a leadoff single. The right-hander is apparently fine, but it's still worth keeping an eye on his status heading into his next turn through the rotation, which lines up for next weekend in Philadelphia. • Out of Sunday's lineup
Carter is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Carter has a .640 OPS over his past 11 contests and will head to the bench for Sunday's series finale. Wyatt Langford will man left field while Andrew Knizner serves as the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 10:14 am

    • Evan Carter gets Sunday off against Reds
Evan Carters is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Carter will grab a seat on the bench to open Sunday’s affair against southpaw Andrew Abbott. Wyatt Langford will handle left field, with Andrew Knizner getting a start at designated hitter. Josh Smith is also out of the lineup against the southpaw, with Davis Wendzel getting a start at third base. Rotoworld Today, 9:08 am

    • Career-high 12 strikeouts
Kirby (3-2) earned the win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday, hurling seven shutout innings while allowing two hits and two walks. He struck out 12.

Advice: Kirby wasn't playing around Saturday, fanning six of the first eight batters he faced en route to recording a career-high 12 strikeouts on the night. The right-hander has now hurled 12 shutout innings over his last two starts while Saturday also marked the second time this season in which he's allowed only two hits. Kirby carries a 30:2 K:BB through five starts this month and has won his last two decisions. Rotowire.com Today, 7:01 am
    • Hits go-ahead homer in extras
Reynolds went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's win over the Giants.

Advice: Reynolds went down on strikes in his first two trips to the plate before eventually adding a single in the top of the eighth. He then jumped on the first pitch he saw from Tyler Rogers in the 10th and sent it into the stands in left field for a two-run shot, putting the Pirates up 3-1. It marked the ninth multi-hit effort this season for Reynolds, who's now homered in two of his last four contests. On the downside, he's also struck out twice in three of those four games. • Season-high nine strikeouts
Hicks did not factor into the decision against the Pirates on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out nine over six innings.

Advice: Hicks was in the zone Saturday, striking out the side in the first inning before going on to retire 10 of the first 12 batters he faced in the contest. He actually allowed the leadoff man to reach in four of the seven innings in which he appeared but wasn't charged with a run until the seventh, after being relieved by Luke Jackson. Hicks has now been hit with a no-decision in each of his last three starts despite holding his opponents to two or fewer runs in those outings. The right-hander also recorded a season-high nine strikeouts Saturday and did not walk a batter after issuing at least two free passes in each of his last three starts. • George Kirby strikes out career-high 12 vs. D-backs
George Kirby recorded a career-high 12 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Saturday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Kirby authored arguably the most dominant performance of his career in this one, generating an eye-popping 23 swinging strikes -- including a staggering 18 whiffs on his four-seam fastball alone -- and finished with an elite 39 percent CSW. His fastball velocity was up 1.2 mph in this one from earlier this year to 96.4 mph and he gave up only three batted balls with an exit velocity over 91 mph over seven nearly-flawless frames. The 26-year-old righty has clearly shaken off a couple rough outings to open the year and has allowed just two runs over 18 innings in his last three starts since April 15. He’ll carry a respectable 4.18 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 38/4 K/BB ratio across 32 2/3 innings (six starts) into a challenging road tilt on Friday against the division-rival Astros. Rotoworld Today, 4:34 am
    • Bryan Reynolds homers to lift Pirates past Giants
Bryan Reynolds walloped a tie-breaking two-run homer in the 10th inning on Saturday, leading the Pirates to a 4-3 extra-inning victory over the Giants.

Advice: Reynolds went deep off Giants lefty reliever Taylor Rogers in extra innings, going deep for the second time in his last four contests. He also has a pair of multi-hit performances during that span. The 29-year-old outfielder has been one of the most consistent five-category impact contributors in the fantasy landscape for years now and has shown zero signs of slowing down. • Jordan Hicks posts nine strikeouts vs. Pirates
Jordan Hicks recorded a career-high nine strikeouts over six innings of one-run ball on Saturday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Advice: Hicks was simply magnificent in this one, continuing his early-season run of success in his Giants debut, coaxing 15 swinging strikes -- including 11 whiffs on his splitter alone -- and finishing with a near-elite 35 percent CSW. The hard-throwing 27-year-old has excelled in his conversion back to a traditional starting role for San Francisco, allowing two earned runs or fewer in six consecutive starts to open the year. There’s some regression looming in run-prevention department, but he’s been outstanding no matter how you slice the underlying data. He’ll carry a microscopic 1.59 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 27/10 K/BB ratio across 34 innings (six starts) into a road tilt on Friday against the Phillies. Rotoworld Today, 3:53 am
