  • Samardzija dinged for seven runs in defeat
Jeff Samardzija struggled in Sunday's loss to the Rockies, yielding seven runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Advice: Samardzija had allowed three runs through the first five innings and looked to be in decent shape heading into the sixth, at which point everything collapsed for the veteran right-hander. Gerardo Parra and Trevor Story both picked up RBI hits to drive Samardzija from the game, with Story later coming home against the bullpen to finish off the scoring on his line. This makes three dismal starts in a row for Samardzija, who has surrendered 16 runs in his last 17 1/3 innings. He will carry a 7.40 ERA and 1.52 WHIP into a home start against the Padres next time he toes the rubber. Until he shows some sign of righting his season, it will be tough to rely on him for fantasy purposes. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 2:58 pm
  • Eduardo Rodriguez goes six scoreless Sun.
Eduardo Rodriguez worked six scoreless innings Sunday as the Red Sox defeated the Orioles.

Advice: Rodriguez issued five walks but gave up only one hit and struck out seven, earning his first win of the 2017 season. The 24-year-old left-hander boasts an impressive 3.12 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings so far for Boston, but he's yielded 12 walks. He'll need better control in his next start against the defending World Series-champion Cubs. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 2:17 pm
  • Folty goes seven strong, Braves fall to Phils
Mike Foltynewicz tossed seven innings of one-run ball Sunday in a no-decision versus the Phillies.

Advice: Folty did his part, yielding just four hits and two walks while striking out nine, but Braves reliever Arodys Vizcaino had a dreadful showing in the eighth and Atlanta ultimately lost 5-2. Foltynewicz will carry a cool 3.20 ERA into his next start on the road against the Brewers. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:24 pm
  • Price (elbow) to throw off mound again Monday
David Price (elbow) will throw a 45-50 pitch bullpen session on Monday.

Advice: It will come after he had a 30-pitch bullpen session Friday where he threw his curveball. Assuming Monday's session goes well, the Red Sox will then map out a rehab assignment plan for Price. That doesn't necessarily mean the next time he throws will be in game action, but at least we should have a clearer picture on a potential timetable. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:25 am

  • Matt Wisler recalled from Triple-A
Braves recalled RHP Matt Wisler from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: Wisler, of course, is a starter by trade, but he'll be used in long relief for now. He held a 3.50 ERA in his first three starts for Gwinnett. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:33 am
