Player Notes

  • Cano getting day off Wednesday vs. Boston
Robinson Cano is getting the day off Wednesday.

Advice: Danny Espinosa will start at second base and bat ninth for the Mariners against Red Sox left-hander Chris Sale. It appears to be routine rest for Cano. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:38 am
  • Diamondbacks activate Rubby De La Rosa
Diamondbacks activated RHP Rubby De La Rosa from the 10-day disabled list.

Advice: De La Rosa missed nearly three weeks with inflammation in his right shoulder. He has posted a 5.40 ERA over six relief appearances this season with Arizona. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:33 am
  • Carpenter (quad) singles, scores in return
Matt Carpenter (quad) went 1-for-4 with a single and a run scored in the Cardinals' win over the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: Carpenter sat out Monday's series opener versus Colorado with some minor quad tightness, but he played a full nine innings of first base Tuesday with no apparent issues. His run scored came on a Paul DeJong two-run shot in the bottom of the first inning. Carpenter had singled to shallow left field to lead off the frame. Rotoworld.com Today, 5:49 am
  • Felix Hernandez doesn't stick around long
Felix Hernandez allowed four earned runs, four hits and two walks with four strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: King Felix has had a problem with Sox since his return from the 10-day disabled list. He pitched just five innings in Chicago on July 15, and 5 2/3 against Boston on Tuesday. He has lasted at least six innings in his other five outings against all other teams since coming off the DL. Hernandez will look to go deeper into the game in his next scheduled start Monday in Texas. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:13 am
  • Hanley Ramirez homers at Safeco Field
Hanley Ramirez finished 2-for-6 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Tuesday's game in Seattle.

Advice: The 2-3-4 hitters for the Red Sox each collected two hits, the only Boston players to post multi-hit games in a 13-inning loss. Ramirez's homer was even more impressive considering it came against fireballer Felix Hernandez. He is enjoying a nice road trip, hitting safely in all five games on the west coast trip with a pair of homers and three RBI. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:09 am
