Spencer Torkelson gets first homer of 2024
Spencer Torkelson finally hit his first homer of the season Sunday against the Astros.
Advice: It was about as meaningless as a homer can be, coming with the Tigers down 9-1 with two outs in the ninth, but let’s not worry about that. Torkelson, who hit 31 homers last season, got his first today in his 164th plate appearances and 38th game. He had four doubles in his previous six games, so it did seem like the drought was due to end. His OPS has climbed from .553 on May 4 to .627 now.
